ABOUT THE ROLE

Ready to put your designer instincts to work building a brand identity system from the ground up? We’re looking for a skilled Brand Designer who has created brand guidelines from scratch and thrives on combining systems thinking with hands-on execution. This is a full-time, temporary Flex engagement of approximately 7 weeks, starting immediately, supporting the Client’s visual identity, brand guidelines, and scalable design toolkits. If you have 7+ years of experience and a portfolio that proves it, let’s connect!

Description

If you’re a visual expert who has built brand identity systems from the ground up and loves crafting every detail, you’ll find a great fit here. This is a full-time, temporary Flex engagement of approximately 7 weeks with an immediate start.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
  • Position type: Temporary, full-time Flex engagement of approximately 7 weeks

  • Start date: Immediate

  • Typical work hours: Standard business hours, Monday through Friday (40 hours per week)

  • Overtime: Not regularly expected, but may be required during peak production cycles or tight deadlines

  • Travel: Occasional (<10%)

WHAT YOU’LL DO

In this role, you’ll develop the Client’s visual identity and brand guidelines, then turn them into design systems and toolkits that let teams create on-brand work independently. You’ll balance big-picture systems thinking with hands-on execution on every detail.

BRAND IDENTITY & GUIDELINES

  • Develop the Client’s visual identity system and brand guidelines, including logo usage, color, typography, grid systems, iconography, and photography and illustration direction

  • Create clear visual usage guides, do’s and don’ts references, and email and web module standards that turn brand rules into practical instructions for internal teams and outside agencies

DESIGN SYSTEMS & VISUAL TOOLKITS

  • Build reusable Figma component libraries, Adobe Creative Cloud kits, and Google Slides and Docs templates that let cross-functional partners produce assets on their own

  • Develop visual identity toolkits for static graphics, carousels, stories, data visualizations, and short-form motion assets across LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and X

  • Standardize file naming, export specs, aspect ratios, and asset repositories so work moves smoothly between studio teams and agency partners

CAMPAIGN & CONTENT APPLICATIONS

  • Design style frames, cover art, lower thirds, on-screen typography, digital banners, and event visuals for the Client’s flagship series, programs, and sub-brands

  • Turn research, video series, and product launches into multi-format asset kits for social, email, web, and executive presentations

  • Partner with social strategists and writers to test and refine visual approaches and update assets based on channel performance

WHAT TO EXPECT DAY-TO-DAY

  • This position is non-exempt and paid hourly

  • You’ll spend most of your day designing at your computer, reviewing visual assets, and joining meetings or review sessions

  • You’ll work remotely, collaborating through digital tools

  • Deadlines may be tight, and priorities may shift based on campaign and production needs

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

COMPETENCIES

  • Proven experience developing brand identities and brand guidelines from scratch, not only designing within existing guidelines

  • Strong design systems thinking, with experience building modular, scalable visual toolkits that others can use independently

  • Advanced skills in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects), as well as Google Slides and Docs

  • A sharp eye for typographic hierarchy, color balance, iconography, and pairing photography with UI or spot illustration

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years of experience in brand design, visual identity systems, or integrated design at a creative agency or in-house brand studio

  • A portfolio that includes at least one brand identity and guidelines system you created from the ground up, plus typography and grid systems, platform-native social assets (static and motion), and modular template toolkits

  • Availability to start immediately and work full time for approximately 7 weeks
