Build and improve analytical tools and AI-enabled automations for Strategic Finance and cross-functional teams. Analyze data using SQL, BigQuery, Hex, spreadsheets, and AI tools; prototype, test, validate, document, and iterate solutions. Translate business problems into analytical requirements, collaborate with Data & Tech, evaluate AI-generated outputs, and help transition successful prototypes into tools used across Planning, Merchandising, E-commerce, Operations, and Growth.

We’re building the most loved men's retailer on the planet and inspiring and equipping adventurers near and far. Scaling that vision takes grit, curiosity, and smarter, faster ways of operating.

As our Business Analyst – AI & Automation, you’ll embed within Strategic Finance to champion internal AI adoption and turn real operational friction into high-leverage solutions. This is an early-career seat built for a curious analytical thinker ready to bridge the gap between commercial strategy and modern tooling. It is not software engineering, and it is not a traditional financial reporting desk.

You’ll partner across Planning, Merchandising, E-commerce, Growth, and Operations to unpack complex problems, collaborate with Data & Tech on technical specs when needed, and roll up your sleeves to own the execution: analysis, rapid prototyping, building, testing, validation, and iteration.

Bring the analytical horsepower and the drive to build - we’ll provide the launchpad to shape a career at the intersection of strategy, data, and technology.

This role is based out of our headquarters in Austin, TX; relocation support will be provided for remote hires.

Responsibilities
    • Help build, test, and improve analytical tools used to make real business decisions across Planning, Merchandising, Buying, E-commerce, Operations, and Growth
    • Use SQL, BigQuery, Hex, and AI tools to analyze data, turn it into actionable insights, prototype solutions, and automate manual workflows
    • Work cross-functionally to understand how decisions are made today and where better tooling can create leverage
    • Translate business questions into clear analytical requirements and partner with Data & Tech when deeper architecture or production support is required
    • Build prototypes and internal tools, validate outputs against actual business results, and iterate based on user feedback so the output stays actionable
    • Pressure-test AI-generated work rather than treating AI output as inherently correct
    • Document assumptions, logic, and business rules so that tools can be understood, trusted, and maintained by others
    • Help move successful prototypes from an idea into something teams actually use

Requirements
    • Strong business curiosity. You want to understand why something matters before you build it
    • A growth mindset. You seek out feedback, treat unfamiliar problems as a chance to get better, and learn quickly
    • Ability to take an ambiguous problem, make reasonable assumptions, communicate those assumptions, and keep moving
    • 0–2 years of experience; new graduates are encouraged to apply
    • Bachelor’s degree, but all fields are encouraged to apply – we care more about analytical skills, internal motor, and passion for driving results than what your diploma says
    • Comfort working with data. SQL is a plus, but we'll bet on someone who's shown they can pick up new tools fast. Exposure to Python or another scripting language is helpful but not required
    • Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills with high ownership and willingness to figure things out without waiting for a perfectly defined set of instructions
    • Meaningful experience using AI tools to analyze, build, automate, or solve problems – through coursework, internships, personal projects, or work experience
    • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to nontechnical stakeholders. You're great cross-functionally. You can sit across the business, understand what each function actually needs, and explain the technical side in plain English

Benefits
  • Medical, Dental, Vision benefits
  • 401(k) and employer match
  • Annual Huckberry shopping credits
  • Paid Sabbatical leave at 4 years
  • Summer Fridays
  • Weekly catered lunch
  • Monthly happy hours
  • Mental health resources
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Paid Vacation & Paid Sick Leave
  • Volunteer Time Off
  • Generous employee discount
  • Annual offsites
