Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Associate in Austin, TX to support our Core Industrial and Lifestyle Business Development team. Reporting to the Sr Director of Business Development, this entry-level position is ideal for students or early-career professionals looking to gain hands-on experience in sales and customer engagement. This role includes developing detailed outbound customer outreach strategies, executing outbound strategies through creative outreach (networking platforms, cold-calling, emails, targeted marketing), maintaining high levels of data integrity (CRM and other outreach platforms) and handing-off qualified opportunities to the Business Development community.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Conduct outbound cold calls to potential customers to introduce company products and services

  • Schedule meetings or demos for BD representatives with interested leads

  • Update and maintain customer records and sales activities in CRM systems

  • Assist with lead generation and research (e.g., LinkedIn, company databases)

  • Develop creative strategies to engage multiple levels of the target customer’s organization

  • Support cross-functional team in qualifying accounts and opportunities

  • Support in the preparation of sales materials, reports, and presentations

  • Perform general clerical tasks such as data entry, document formatting, and internal follow-up

  • Collaborate with the BD and marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging

  • Track customer responses and help improve cold call scripts and outreach techniques

The experience we are looking to add to our team:

  • Recent graduate (or graduating soon) with a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, or related field (preferred, not mandatory)

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Comfortable making cold calls and engaging with customers professionally

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)

  • Minimal travel required – with potential travel requirements for customer meetings as required

  • Previous experience in customer service or telemarketing is a plus

  • Familiarity with sales or marketing concepts is a plus
