Job Summary

DuBois Chemicals is seeking an experienced high-level Business Development Manager to drive growth in the Specialty Chemical market with a focus on DuBois inhibited propylene glycol solutions. The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be ambitious, motivated, and technically minded—able to identify, develop, and close new business opportunities at a rapid pace by partnering with OEMs, mechanical contractors, engineering firms, industrial end users, and emerging markets such as data centers, geothermal, and solar energy applications.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Profitably grow and develop DuBois’ inhibited propylene glycol business across the United States.

  • Drive new business development by influencing specifications and building long-term relationships with OEMs, engineering firms, contractors, and end users.

  • Target and expand sales in strategic growth markets including data centers, geothermal systems, and solar energy projects.

  • Generate leads and identify new project opportunities across HVAC, process cooling, renewable energy, and industrial applications.

  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, ensuring disciplined funnel management and accurate forecasting.

  • Execute a consultative, technical sales process to navigate complex decision cycles involving multiple stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with internal technical, operations, and customer support teams to deliver superior value and service to customers.

  • Maintain a strong field presence through national travel (with periodic overnights).

  • Demonstrate mechanical and technical aptitude to explain inhibited glycol performance, compatibility, and environmental benefits.

  • Proactively engage in cold calling, networking, and industry association participation to expand market reach.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in technical sales or business development within water treatment, HVAC fluids, industrial chemicals, or related industries.

  • Demonstrated history of achieving high-level sales results consistently.

  • Strong ability to influence specifications and sell through engineering firms, contractors, and OEM channels.

  • Experience selling into data centers, mechanical contractors or HVAC infrastructure markets highly desirable.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools for pipeline management and reporting.

  • Strong work ethic, competitive drive, and eagerness to grow within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial sales environment.

  • Active involvement in manufacturing, HVAC, or energy-related associations aligned with target markets is a plus.

  • Strong preference for a candidate in the Mid West USA

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

    Preferred fields: Chemistry, Engineering, Metallurgy, or Applied Science.
  • Active participation in industrial, energy, or professional groups relevant to HVAC, mechanical contracting, renewable energy, or water treatment is a plus
