## Role Summary
American Cyber is seeking a results-oriented Business Development Manager (Independent Contractor – 1099) to support regional growth initiatives in the Miami market. This contractor will identify, develop, and advance new business opportunities through proactive outreach, strategic relationship building, and market engagement. You will collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing to execute go-to-market strategies that drive pipeline growth, increase market share, and support revenue objectives—while maintaining autonomy in how services are delivered.
## Location & Regional Focus
* Location: Remote (U.S.-based preferred)
* Regional focus: Miami, FL
* Travel: Required as needed for customer meetings, partner activities, and industry events
## What You’ll Do
* Identify and develop new business opportunities within the Miami region through prospecting, networking, and targeted outreach
* Conduct market research to identify high-potential industries, accounts, and buying centers
* Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at target organizations
* Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to develop and execute go-to-market strategies, campaigns, and account plans
* Serve as a knowledgeable resource on American Cyber’s solutions and services, aligning offerings to client needs and business objectives
* Represent American Cyber at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to generate leads and establish partnerships
* Manage and maintain an active sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up, clear next steps, and consistent opportunity progression
* Prepare and deliver tailored proposals, presentations, and solution overviews
* Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with clients and partners in coordination with internal stakeholders
* Maintain accurate records of outreach, pipeline status, and opportunity notes in agreed tracking/CRM tools
## Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
* 5+ years of business development experience; cybersecurity industry experience strongly preferred
* Demonstrated success generating and closing new business opportunities in a B2B environment
* Strong understanding of prospecting, pipeline management, and go-to-market execution
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage executive-level stakeholders
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to connect customer needs to solution value
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams
* Willingness to travel as required
## Engagement Terms (1099 Contractor)
* This role is structured as an independent contractor (1099) engagement and does not constitute an employment relationship
* You retain discretion over the manner and means of performing services, consistent with agreed objectives, timelines, and performance expectations
* Compensation structure (e.g., commission-based or hybrid model) will be defined in a separate agreement
* Contractor is responsible for applicable taxes, insurance, and business expenses unless otherwise specified
