Solarity is seeking a driven, curious, and resilient Business Development Representative (BDR) to help generate new business opportunities within our target healthcare markets.

The BDR is responsible for creating qualified meetings and early-stage opportunities through disciplined outbound prospecting, discovery, and timely follow-up. Using phone, email, social, and other channels, the BDR will engage decision-makers within Solarity’s ideal customer profile (ICP), uncover insights about prospective customers, create interest in Solarity’s solutions, and connect qualified prospects with our Regional Sales Directors.

This is an opportunity to join Solarity’s growing commercial organization, develop valuable enterprise healthcare sales experience, and help shape how we build and scale our business development function.

Key Responsibilities

Prospect & Generate Opportunities

  • Generate qualified meetings within target accounts through disciplined phone, email, social, and multi-channel outreach.
  • Identify and engage relevant decision-makers and influencers within Solarity’s ICP.
  • Research accounts and prospects to create relevant, personalized outreach.
  • Execute structured, multi-touch prospecting cadences across target segments and buyer personas.

Discover & Build Account Intelligence

  • Use every prospect interaction to learn more about the account—including current solutions and processes, business challenges, strategic priorities, and potential opportunities.
  • Ask thoughtful discovery questions, even when an immediate meeting or sales opportunity is not identified.
  • Identify additional contacts, roles, decision-makers, and influencers to pursue within target accounts.
  • Capture account intelligence in CRM to strengthen future prospecting, sales engagement, and account strategy.

Qualify & Develop Interest

  • Assess prospect needs, priorities, and potential fit with Solarity before transitioning qualified prospects to Regional Sales Directors.
  • Effectively communicate Solarity’s value proposition and handle initial objections.
  • Provide Regional Sales Directors with clear context, discovery findings, and recommended next steps for qualified meetings.

Execute Follow-Up & ABM

  • Rapidly follow up on inbound leads, events, referrals, and other prospect engagement.
  • Maintain consistent and persistent follow-up to maximize engagement and conversion.
  • Play an active role in Solarity’s Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategy, partnering with Sales and Marketing to penetrate priority accounts, engage target personas, and convert account activity into meaningful conversations.
  • Manage prospecting activity and priorities with strong organization and discipline.

Maintain Data & Share Insights

  • Maintain accurate account, contact, activity, and prospect information within CRM and sales engagement platforms.
  • Capture and share insights on buyer challenges, current solutions, objections, competitive activity, and messaging effectiveness.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to continuously improve targeting, messaging, campaigns, and prospect engagement.

Qualifications

  • 0–3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or another customer-facing role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Resilient, competitive, and comfortable with high-volume outbound prospecting.
  • Naturally curious with the ability to ask strong questions, listen, and uncover meaningful information.
  • Able to quickly learn healthcare terminology, buyer personas, workflows, and business challenges.
  • Organized, disciplined, and able to consistently execute against defined processes.
  • Coachable with a strong desire to learn, improve, and grow.
  • Familiarity with CRM and sales engagement technology preferred.
  • Healthcare, healthcare technology, SaaS, or B2B technology experience is a plus but not required.

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

  • Curiosity & Discovery: Asks strong questions and turns conversations into valuable account intelligence.
  • Personalized Prospecting: Creates relevant outreach while operating efficiently at scale.
  • Communication: Delivers clear, concise, and compelling messages across phone, email, and social.
  • Objection Handling: Confidently navigates resistance and creates reasons to continue the conversation.
  • Account Penetration: Identifies new contacts, roles, and paths into priority accounts.
  • Execution & Discipline: Consistently manages activity, follow-up, and priorities.
  • Resilience: Maintains persistence and energy despite rejection and setbacks.
  • Coachability & Growth Mindset: Seeks feedback, learns quickly, and continuously improves.

Performance & Development

Success will be measured through a balanced set of leading and lagging indicators designed to evaluate prospecting execution, account engagement and intelligence, qualified meeting generation, opportunity creation, conversion, data quality, and overall contribution to pipeline growth.

As Solarity continues to build and scale its commercial organization, successful BDRs will have opportunities to expand their skills, take on additional responsibility, and pursue continued career growth within the organization.
