Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst III to lead advanced data analytics, enterprise reporting, and decision-support initiatives within a large, complex organization. This senior-level role is responsible for designing and overseeing business intelligence architecture, developing advanced analytics solutions, and translating complex data into actionable insights that drive operational performance, financial stewardship, and strategic planning.

The BI Analyst III serves as a technical subject-matter expert and advisor to executive leadership, departmental stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. This role requires deep expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, dashboard development, predictive analytics, and enterprise systems integration within a regulated public-sector environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical proficiency, business acumen, executive communication skills, and the ability to lead high-impact analytics initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 8–10+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data analytics, data engineering, or enterprise reporting
  • Extensive experience designing and maintaining enterprise data warehouses, data marts, and scalable reporting solutions
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, data modeling, ETL processes, and database management systems
  • Demonstrated expertise with BI and visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar enterprise tools)
  • Experience developing executive-level dashboards, KPIs, and performance measurement frameworks
  • Strong experience integrating data from ERP, HRIS, financial, operations, and other enterprise systems
  • Proven ability to analyze large, complex datasets and provide strategic recommendations based on trends and predictive insights
  • Experience implementing data governance standards, quality assurance protocols, and security controls
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and analytical solutions
  • Experience leading cross-functional analytics projects in a large, complex, or highly regulated organization
  • Strong understanding of data privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance considerations within a public-sector environment
  • Experience mentoring junior analysts or leading project-based analytics teams

Experience Preferences

  • Experience within a public-sector, governmental, transportation agency environment
  • Familiarity with performance metrics related to transit operations, capital planning, workforce analytics, or financial performance
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or similar environments)
  • Experience implementing predictive analytics, forecasting models, or machine learning solutions
  • Certification in data analytics, business intelligence, or cloud data platforms
  • Experience supporting executive leadership and board-level reporting requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to analyze complex data models and reports for sustained periods

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and executive-level communication skills

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related field
  • Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP), or equivalent
  • Continuing professional education in advanced analytics, data engineering, or cloud architecture
  • Specialized training in enterprise data governance, cybersecurity, or predictive analytics
