The Impact you will have in this role:

Responsible to design and develop interactive BI visuals and reports for the DTCC Enterprise Business Intelligence organization. These reports are used by the business and senior management to operate and provide transparency of the operation of the firm. You will also guide and mentor junior members of the team.
 

Your Primary Responsibilities:
 

  • Design, develop, and deliver Business Intelligence reports primarily with Power BI
  • Follow DTCC standard Power BI Template.
  • Maintain Power BI Deployment pipeline to move dashboards from dev to QA and QA to production.
  • Work with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical design including translating vague business requirements into metrics, challenge poorly defined KPIs, partner with Product Owner and Stakeholders, Document models and measures clearly
  • Work with advanced Power BI Data Modeling like star schema, fact vs dimension table separation, handling many to many relations, creating bride tables, import vs direct query
  • Implement advanced DAX such as evaluation context, context transition, iterators (sumx, average) vs set-based DAX, Variables, Virtual Tables
  • Configure Security & Governance such as Row Level Security, 

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:

  • 3+ years experience with Microsoft Power Platform (especially Power BI) including:
    • Hands-on DAX knowledge
    • Power Query / M proficiency
    • Strong data modeling fundamentals (star schema, relationships)
    • Experience with Power BI deployment (Dev/QA/Prod, pipelines)
    • Ability to explain SQL logic and queries
  • Knowledgable about Power BI performance optimization and troubleshooting such as using Performance Analyzer, Recognizing when visuals or measures cause slow rendering
  • Experience writing SQL statements
  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Experience with Sigma Computer, AWS Quick Site, or other relevant BI tools is a plus.
  • Experience leading, guiding, and mentoring junior team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good planning and project management skills
  • Excellent inter-personal skills with a customer service orientation
  • Demonstrates ability to apply effective challenge
  • Demonstrates ability to work pro-actively with technical subject matter experts, all levels of management, and the members of the Second and Third Lines of Defense
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter, who can set priorities, take initiative and work both independently and proactively in a dynamic team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and be flexible as a member of a small team that has to balance handling multiple priorities at any given time
  • Process mapping, data collection, and analysis skills preferred
  • Technology background preferred
  • Knowledge of the security markets, post-trade processing and clearing and settlement infrastructure preferred
  • Certification in one or more of the following is a plus:
    • PL-300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate
    • PL-400: Microsoft Power BI Developer
    • PL-900: Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals

 

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Serves as a dedicated technology resource for advancing DTCC’s business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technology. The goal of this new department is to partner internally with IT, our business and regulatory divisions and externally with clients, regulators, and fintech vendors, to help build new platforms and business models to advance DTCC’s mission to support the financial markets.
