As LPL accelerates modernization across cloud, platform engineering, domain‑driven design, and AI‑enabled capabilities, we are seeking a senior architecture leader to help define and deliver the next generation of our technology platform.

Job Overview

The VPII, Architecture Manager is a senior leadership role within LPL’s Enterprise Architecture organization. This leader is responsible for building and leading a high‑impact Solution Architecture function that partners closely with Technology and Product leaders to deliver modern, scalable, and resilient platform and domain architectures aligned to LPL’s business strategy.

This role combines deep technical credibility with enterprise leadership, balancing near‑term execution with long‑term architectural vision. The Architecture Manager will shape platform engineering strategy, advance domain‑driven design practices, and help embed AI/ML capabilities responsibly across the enterprise, while contributing to the evolution of LPL’s broader Enterprise Architecture discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and develop a diverse team of solution architects, fostering an inclusive culture that rewards both delivery and collaborative behaviors.

  • Drive a “shift‑left” architectural mindset by proactively shaping platform and domain architectures that align to product roadmaps and enterprise strategy.

  • Partner with senior business, product, and technology leaders to translate business priorities into modern, scalable architecture strategies and solutions.

  • Establish and evolve platform engineering capabilities, including developer platforms, CI/CD, observability, API management, and self‑service tooling.

  • Define and govern domain‑driven architecture principles, including bounded contexts, domain ownership, and integration patterns.

  • Lead architectural strategy for cloud adoption, hybrid integration, event‑driven systems, and DevSecOps practices.

  • Guide the development and adoption of AI/ML architecture patterns, including model lifecycle management, MLOps, responsible AI frameworks, and governance.

  • Define and maintain architectural principles, standards, reference architectures, and reusable assets that accelerate delivery while ensuring consistency and quality.

What Are We Looking For?

We’re looking for strong collaborators who deliver exceptional client experiences and thrive in fast‑paced, team‑oriented environments. Our ideal candidates pursue greatness, act with integrity, and are driven to help our clients succeed. We value leaders who encourage creativity, continuous improvement, and contribute to a culture where we win together and create and share joy in our work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field.

  • 10 or more years of experience leading architecture functions or serving as a senior architect in large‑scale enterprise environments.

  • Experience defining and executing platform and domain architecture strategies, including governance mechanisms.

  • Experience in cloud‑native architectures, platform engineering, DevSecOps, microservices, APIs, and event‑driven systems.

  • Experience applying domain‑driven design principles and modern architecture patterns across complex business domains.

Core Competencies

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to senior executives and enterprise stakeholders.

  • Strategic thinking combined with strong execution bias and sound judgment.

  • Continuous learner with curiosity for emerging technologies, modern work practices, and AI‑driven innovation.

Preferences

  • Experience building internal developer platforms or platform products at enterprise scale.

  • Familiarity with AI/ML platforms, MLOps frameworks, vector databases, and responsible AI governance.

  • Background in financial services, fintech, or other highly regulated, mission‑critical environments.
