About Ownwell:

Ownwell is building the future of property tax. We combine proprietary technology, licensed property tax professionals, and deep market expertise to lower what real estate owners pay in property taxes. From single-family rental landlords to institutional REITs, our platform provides assessment monitoring, property tax appeals, and strategic advisory services.

Our Culture

People are our superpower! Centered in everything we do is a true sense of team. We listen and we learn from each other. We are on this rocketship together and embrace a fast-paced, truly collaborative environment. We are here to win as a team and as a company.

We’ve brought together General Appraisers, Certified Public Accountants, Property Tax Consultants, Data scientists, PhDs, best-in-class customer support representatives, and more to deliver top results for our customers.

Our core values are our guiding principles in everything we do

  • Customer Obsession
  • Take Ownership
  • Do The Right Thing
  • Go Far Together
  • Accelerate Innovation

Role Overview:

We're hiring a Client Success Manager who will own a portfolio of real estate investor accounts, ranging from established SFR and multifamily operators to larger institutional platforms. You'll bring deep real estate fluency to the role, but you'll also operate the way a fast-growing tech company does - data-driven, fast-moving, and closely connected to how the product itself evolves.

What You'll Do:

  • Build real trust with asset managers, CFOs, and owner-operators by understanding their portfolio strategy and what's actually driving their decisions, not just their case file
  • Own appeal strategy for your accounts at the county level. Know when to push, when to settle, and how to explain the why to an owner who wants more than a form letter
  • Coordinate between our internal operations team, outside property tax consultants, and your clients to keep every appeal on track across your entire book, without losing the thread on any single one
  • Deliver results with real candor, good or bad. Flag the properties that need a second look before they turn into a bigger problem
  • Look for ways to expand the relationship: a new entity, a new market, a bigger ask. Go after them instead of waiting for renewal season
  • Bring what you're seeing across your accounts back to Product, Engineering, and our property tax strategy team, helping sharpen both the tools and the tax approach the next CSM and client will use

What We're Looking For:

  • Meaningful experience in real estate, proptech, property tax, or institutional account management. We care more about how well you understand this world and how fast you can operate independently in it than a specific number of years
  • Fluency with real estate fundamentals: valuation methods, cap rates, NOI, occupancy trends, rent rolls, and how sophisticated investors evaluate portfolio performance
  • A natural ability to earn trust with high-net-worth individuals, and to hold your own with C-suite executives and other senior decision-makers
  • Comfort using data to identify opportunities and communicate value, whether that's through reporting, analysis, or client-facing presentations
  • Curiosity about how technology and product decisions shape the client experience. You don't need a technical background, but you should want a voice in how we build
  • None of the following are required, but they help: time at a property tax, valuation, or appeal firm; experience inside an investment platform, asset manager, or family office; or hands-on use of CRM/proptech tools

This role is perfect for someone with strong real estate or finance fundamentals who wants to apply that expertise in a technology-driven environment while helping build the future of property tax management.
