Job Description:

   

HPE Networking is seeking an experienced Account Manager with deep expertise in network security and a proven track record of strategic selling into the Verizon Infrastructure organization. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience selling carrier‑grade security and network solutions—including firewalls, routing, switching, virtualization, and advanced security architectures—within large, complex service provider environments.

This role places strong emphasis on expanding HPE Networking’s security footprint within Verizon by driving strategic security‑led initiatives, demonstrating architectural differentiation, and enabling HPE’s leadership across secure network infrastructure and next‑gen data center solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute account plans and long‑term pipeline strategies focused on increasing HPE’s network security and infrastructure market share within Verizon.
  • Lead strategic, high‑value opportunities centered around secure routing, SASE/SSE, firewalling, threat prevention, zero‑trust architectures, routing, switching, and data center networking,
  • Engage key personnel, architects, and security decision‑makers across Verizon to position HPE Networking as a trusted partner for carrier‑grade security innovation.
  • Drive large and complex deals across both value and volume portfolios, ensuring strong alignment between customer security requirements and HPE Networking solutions.
  • Collaborate with leadership to influence future business and technology plans; independently determine strategies required to achieve account growth.
  • Leverage and manage a broad ecosystem of channel, technology, and service partners to support security‑focused initiatives.
  • Build trusted relationships with key IT, network engineering, and cybersecurity executives, including C‑suite stakeholders.
  • Apply consultative‑selling techniques to uncover security gaps, influence architectural decisions, and deliver solution proposals aligned to Verizon’s business and security objectives.
  • Maintain exceptionally high customer loyalty through integrity, responsiveness, and delivery of measurable business outcomes.
  • Analyze security trends, competitive intelligence, emerging threats, and industry drivers to support rich customer dialogue and strategic planning.
Education & Experience Required
  • Minimum 7+ years of successful security and network infrastructure sales experience into Telco / Wireless companies with a proven history of driving revenue growth.  Selling experience to Verizon is a major plus.  
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong experience developing security‑focused account strategies and proposals aligned to customer cybersecurity challenges.
  • Demonstrated success selling Core/Edge/Data Center/Security/Wireless solutions to large service providers.
  • Broad understanding of network security architectures—including segmentation, zero trust, DDoS mitigation, secure edge, firewalling, identity‑driven access, and visibility/analytics.
  • Strong competitive awareness of Cisco, Arista, Nokia, Palo Alto, and HPE Networking security and infrastructure portfolios.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex security concepts for business and technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to negotiate successfully using a Win/Win philosophy and close complex, multi‑stakeholder deals.
  • Creative, proactive, and effective working within matrixed organizations.
  • Strong business acumen and consultative relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

"The expected salary/wage range for this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level.
– United States of America: Annual Salary USD 216,000 - 507,000 in Texas
This range reflects the minimum to maximum combined base and target-level sales compensation that would be paid if the hire performs at 100% of their sales plan. Of that on-target pay amount, the mix of base salary and target-level sales compensation is 50%/50%."
