As a Relationship Manager in the Commercial Card team, you will oversee a portfolio of commercial card clients with annual program spend exceeding $20 million. You will use a consultative, insight-driven approach to understand each client’s needs, challenges, goals, and broader payments strategy. You will deliver tailored solutions that drive growth and expansion through strategic payables initiatives, virtual card adoption, supplier enablement, cross-sell opportunities, and account retention. You will partner closely with internal banking, treasury, product, implementation, service, and risk stakeholders to deliver a strong client experience and resolve issues quickly. You will embrace approved AI-enabled tools, analytics, and data insights to improve preparation, client engagement, and execution discipline.

Job responsibilities

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of commercial card and payables solutions, the market landscape, and relevant financial trends

  • Develop and execute proactive client expansion and retention strategies using a consultative approach focused on client needs

  • Use approved AI-enabled tools, analytics, customer relationship management insights, and portfolio data to prepare for meetings, identify opportunities, and improve follow-up quality

  • Sell payment solutions into complex client environments by connecting commercial card, virtual card, payables automation, supplier enablement, integration concepts, and working-capital outcomes

  • Manage overall client experience and satisfaction metrics while driving retention, growth, and profitability outcomes

  • Lead solution development for your portfolio and coordinate internal stakeholders to deliver client outcomes

  • Partner with internal banking and treasury stakeholders to align coverage, growth plans, and client priorities

  • Serve as a commercial card subject matter expert and trusted advisor through consultative engagement and tailored recommendations

  • Conduct semiannual or annual account reviews and share best practices to strengthen relationships and program performance

  • Collaborate with service and operations teams to resolve product or service issues promptly

  • Drive structured optimization initiatives that generate revenue and improve program performance

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience in payments, treasury, commercial card, payables, or related financial services roles

  • In-depth knowledge of payables solutions, including commercial card, virtual card, supplier enablement, and related capabilities

  • Demonstrated ability to sell payment solutions into complex organizations by articulating business value, operational benefits, risk/control considerations, and financial outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trusted, long-term client relationships using a consultative selling approach

  • Experience managing multiple clients with competing priorities and deadlines

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) and collaboration tools used for client engagement

  • Experience using customer relationship management tools (for example, Salesforce) and data analysis to manage a portfolio and identify opportunities

  • Experience presenting to senior executives and leading client discussions and reviews

  • Demonstrated negotiation skills, including discussions involving pricing, implementation considerations, and ongoing program optimization

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and experience developing customized solutions to address client needs

  • Knowledge of accounting and finance concepts, including familiarity with client accounting systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) integrations

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Knowledge of supplier acceptance, virtual card optimization, integration approaches, settlement terms, rebate economics, and payables modernization trends

  • Ability to translate complex payment concepts into clear, client-facing recommendations for finance, treasury, procurement, and accounts payable stakeholders

  • Comfort collaborating across banking, treasury, product, service, implementation, pricing, and legal partners to deliver client outcomes

  • Experience using data and AI-supported insights to identify expansion opportunities, prepare executive-ready client reviews, and drive targeted portfolio action plans
