Amentum is seeking a Communications & Lab Services Manager to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission in Andros Island, Bahamas. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. The Communications & Lab Services Manager is responsible for ensuring the operation and maintenance of Communication and Timing systems on the AUTEC Project. This position over-sees the following departments: Message Center, Tech Lab, and Communications. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Over-sees the operation and maintenance of complex systems, conducts testing to ensure installation meets appropriate standards and procedures.
  • Initiates and oversees complex service restoration processes to expedite problem resolution; monitors processes and resolves any matters of significance in order to ensure completion in accordance with established procedures.
  • Plan and implement installs and upgrades of systems
  • Over-sees operation of Naval Message Center and ensures compliance with Navy instructions.
  • Supports operation and maintenance of AUTEC PBX Phone System.
  • Manage Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems
  • Manage timing systems
  • Manage various other DoD specific radio systems
  • Over-sees Base Cable TV system.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining budget and other financial details
  • Manages a team of Bahamas and US based engineers/technicians in performance of their assigned duties
  • Travel from the Bahamas to other locations (generally does not exceed once every two months)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline or related field preferred.
  • 10 plus years of direct experience working with principles and practices of associated technology required.
  • Five or more years of supervisory or management experience required.
  • Experience with Satellite, Microwave, Radio, and PBX disciplines preferred.
  • Experience with US Government COMSEC preferred.
  • Strong safety mindset.
  • Valid Driver’s License and passport will be required.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain the required US Government security clearance for which a US Citizenship is required.
  • Strong management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Outlook, Teams, and especially Excel.
  • Must be able to reside in a remote location with limited medical facilities.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE or other DoD 8570 certificate desired.
  • This position is based on site on Andros Island, The Bahamas.
