Responsibilities:

Collaborative Parts Requirement Definition

Work closely with business development, program management, and engineering team during quoting phases to determine parts requirements and estimate associated costs

Perform detailed reliability and performance analyses when customer specifications are incomplete or unclear.

Testing and Data Analysis for Space Components

Coordinate and oversee testing of parts for Total Ionizing Dose (TID), as well as low and high dose rate testing, to gather critical data on their performance and reliability in space environments.

Cross-functional Coordination

Partner with program managers, planners, and design engineers to ensure integration and fulfillment of customer parts requirements, ensuring compliance with performance standards and timelines.

Root Cause and Failure Analysis

Lead failure analysis and root cause investigations for parts-related issues to identify underlying causes.

Implement effective corrective actions for problem resolution and continuous improvement.

Vendor and Supply Chain Collaboration

Collaborate with program management, engineering, vendors, and purchasing teams to guarantee that all parts meet customer and Wenzel reliability standards and requirements.

Qualification and Certification of Components

Lead the qualification process for critical electronic components used in space applications, ensuring they meet NASA and MIL-STD standards for performance, reliability, and safety.

Radiation Hardness Analysis

Conduct radiation hardness assessments for space components.

Determine the appropriate radiation tolerance and performance requirements to meet customer needs in space environments.

Electrical Parts Stress Analysis

Perform Electrical Parts Stress Analysis (EPSA) to evaluate and ensure the reliability of electronic components

Verify that the parts meet the defined customer specifications under various operational conditions.

Worst Case Analysis (WCA)

Conduct WCA to simulate the most extreme operating conditions and ensure the reliability of products across the entire lifespan of the program, identifying potential risks and design weaknesses.

Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)

Lead FMECA to systematically identify potential failure modes, evaluate their impacts on system performance.

Prioritize risk mitigation efforts to enhance system reliability and safety.

Reliability Metrics and Predictive Analysis

Perform MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTF (Mean Time To Failure) analyses.

Provide critical reliability metrics to ensure product longevity and mission success over the expected lifecycle of space programs or aerospace applications.

Thermal and Structural Analysis

Conduct thermal and structural analyses to assess the robustness of designs under extreme temperature, mechanical, and environmental conditions.

Ensure components can withstand launch, in-orbit operations, and mission-specific stresses.

Other Analysis

Conduct specialized analyses as needed for high-reliability program development.

Prepare detailed reports to demonstrate compliance with customer requirements.

Examples include Salt-Fog Testing, Fungal Growth Compliance, Aging Analysis, Product Life Testing, and other relevant assessments.
