The Workday Practice

Alpha’s Workday Practice sits within MCO and specializes in Workday implementation, optimization, solution health assessments, release readiness, and Application Management Services (AMS). The practice works closely with Alpha’s broader advisory, data, and technology teams to translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions and provide continuity from strategy and design through implementation and ongoing support.

The Role

Support Workday delivery teams through reporting, baseline configuration, data preparation, testing, documentation, and administrative delivery activities. The Consultant develops hands-on Workday capability while working under the direction of experienced functional and technical leads.

What You’ll Do

  • Reporting & Analytics: Build and maintain Workday reports, including Advanced, Matrix, and Composite reports, and develop calculated fields based on defined business specifications.
  • Configuration Support: Configure standard business processes, notifications, and other baseline functional components under the guidance of functional leads.
  • Data Preparation & Validation: Prepare data-loading templates, validate legacy data formats, support data cleansing and mapping, and assist with load and reconciliation activities.
  • Testing Support: Develop and execute test scripts, document results, log defects, and support retesting and validation across assigned functional areas.
  • Documentation: Maintain configuration workbooks, requirements documentation, process materials, test evidence, and other project artifacts.
  • Client & Team Support: Participate in project meetings and working sessions, follow up on assigned actions, and support functional, reporting, data, and operational delivery needs.
  • Professional Development: Build knowledge of Workday Financials, reporting, data, and business processes through hands-on delivery, formal training, certification, and coaching.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of Workday-related experience or relevant enterprise finance systems experience.
  • Strong analytical, Excel, data-management, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in finance technology and the ability to learn Workday concepts and configuration quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

Workday Certifications

  • Workday Reporting, Financials for Administrators, Banking & Settlement, or other relevant Workday credentials are preferred.
  • Candidates are expected to pursue and maintain certifications aligned with assigned responsibilities and career progression.

Location & Travel

This position is US-based and primarily remote. Occasional travel to client sites and Alpha offices may be required based on project needs, key implementation milestones, and team collaboration.

There are a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to - skill sets, experience and training, and licensure and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the salary range is $85,000 – $105,000 USD, subject to change based on salary benchmarking. In addition to this salary, candidates will be eligible for a variable bonus.
