Consulting Attorney (Remote)

Full-Time, Remote / Salary, Exempt

Includes Exceptional Benefits, Flexible PTO, Flexible Schedule, Equity

Steno is growing! We’re looking for a Consulting Attorney to join our winning team, which is revolutionizing the court reporting industry every single day. We’re a diverse team from all over the country (and beyond), and we’re crazy about redefining the boundaries of an outdated industry.

As a Consulting Attorney, you'll play a crucial role in demonstrating our products, supporting sales and client success, creating educational content, and serving as a legal resource across our organization. This position combines consultative selling, client relationship management, content creation, and cross-functional support to drive business growth and product excellence.

Who are you?

You’re an attorney who not only understands how litigation works but also how technology can make it better. You’ve spent time practicing law and working in a tech-forward, client-facing role; whether that’s sales, consulting, demos, or training, so you’re comfortable moving between legal conversations and product conversations without missing a beat.

You know the challenges attorneys run into every day, and you’re skilled at framing modern, tech-driven solutions in a way that resonates with them. You’re a clear communicator who can break down complex ideas, build trust quickly, and support clients through the entire decision-making process.

You enjoy being the connector: someone who brings real legal credibility to a team, building cutting-edge tools, and can translate both worlds for clients and colleagues.

If you’re looking for a company that offers support, guidance, an abundance of killer giphys, and unlimited potential to grow into your best self, you can bet we’d love to have you too.

On a regular basis you will

  • Conduct compelling product demos and consultative sales presentations of Steno's full suite of services, including court reporting, Steno Connect, Transcript Genius, The Firm Dashboard and litigation support services.
  • Collaborate closely with the go-to market organization, including inside and outside sales, marketing, and revenue operations, to provide in-depth technical and legal expertise during client interactions and throughout the sales cycle.
  • Help develop and deliver Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs that educate attorneys on legal technology, AI tools, and best practices in modern litigation.
  • Create and present webinars showcasing Steno's products and addressing legal technology trends and challenges.
  • Represent Steno at conferences and events through public speaking engagements, panel participation, and thought leadership.
  • Develop and implement strategies to identify and close new business opportunities.
  • Create training materials and deliver training sessions for employees and clients on Steno's products and services.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them understand how Steno's solutions can address their specific challenges and improve their operations.
  • Serve as an internal resource by proactively problem-solving and answering questions from various teams across the organization, including sales, marketing, product, and customer success.
  • Participate in product testing and provide substantive legal feedback to inform product development and improvements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitive offerings to maintain Steno's edge in the legal tech market.
  • Contribute to the development of sales strategies and marketing materials that effectively communicate the value of Steno's offerings.
  • Assist in streamlining the onboarding process for new clients to ensure smooth adoption of Steno's solutions.

You’re gonna crush it if

  • You have 5+ years of experience in the legal field, preferably as a practicing attorney with litigation experience.
  • You possess 2+ years of experience in technology sales, consulting, or client-facing roles in the legal tech sector.
  • Your expertise lies in consultative selling and explaining complex legal and technical concepts in simple, relatable terms.
  • You have a proven track record of successful client relationship management and driving revenue growth.
  • Your presentation and public speaking skills are excellent, with the ability to engage and persuade diverse audiences at CLEs, webinars, and conferences.
  • You have experience creating educational content, particularly CLEs or legal training programs.
  • Your understanding of the pain points and workflow challenges faced by modern law firms is comprehensive.
  • You are proficient in using and demonstrating various legal technologies and software platforms.
  • Your project management skills are strong, with the ability to juggle multiple client needs, sales opportunities, and internal requests simultaneously.
  • You're a proactive problem-solver who enjoys being a go-to resource for colleagues across different departments.
  • You have a passion for technology and its potential to revolutionize the legal industry.
  • You have experience with court reporting services and litigation support is highly desirable.
  • You have familiarity with AI-powered legal tools and their applications in legal practice is a plus.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, growing company where you can make an immediate impact.
