The Consulting Field Solutions Architect - Data - Financial Services is a client-facing, strategic consulting role responsible for driving the technical strategy, sales acceleration, and go-to-market execution of data-focused solutions across CDW's customer base. This position partners closely with Practice Leaders, Business Development teams, and Field CTOs to shape opinionated, differentiated approaches around cloud data platforms, data governance, analytics modernization, and AI enablement. The incumbent is expected to have a background in financial services. A successful Consulting FSA brings deep technical subject matter expertise, consultative leadership, and solution development experience across cloud-native and hybrid data technologies. This individual serves as a mentor, thought leader, and trusted advisor- owning technical strategy, enabling sales success, and influencing CDW's market position in the data ecosystem.
* What you will do:
* Consults on leading-edge data technologies with a financial service industry focus and deep expertise in areas such as cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks), data governance (e.g., Collibra, Alation), integration (e.g., Fivetran, Informatica), analytics (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and ML/AI frameworks.
* Accurately scopes professional services engagements focused on data transformation, AI readiness, and platform modernization.
* Maintains recognized technical and strategic expertise as the "go-to" resource in the data domain, with forward-looking awareness of trends and implications.
* Leads data assessments, workshops, and strategic architecture engagements to accelerate customer outcomes.
* Trains and informs peers and sales on emerging solutions and prescriptive architectures based on customer engagements.
* Promotes knowledge-sharing and reusable IP development; mentors architects and consultants across the team.
* Serves as an escalation point for technical concerns in the pre-sales lifecycle.
* Supports onboarding and development of new team members through knowledge transfer and collaborative project work.
* Proactively identifies future-state data opportunities that align with prior project outcomes.
* Advises account teams and sales leaders in crafting strategic conversations aligned to business priorities.
* Helps customers optimize existing investments, future-proof data strategy, and reduce technical debt.
* Champions CDW's Data Practice value proposition and develops reusable enablement tools for sales alignment.
* Collaborates with partners, sales, and marketing to deliver scalable thought leadership initiatives and field-facing customer events.
* Delivers credible, business-outcome-oriented presentations to C-level audiences.
* Authors content, assessments, and demo environments to support go-to-market efforts and thought leadership.
* Coordinates joint field execution with technology partners and aligns territory planning with AE and ISA teams.
* Sets expectations and manages multiple workstreams through proactive stakeholder alignment.
* Leads development of SOWs, RFIs, and RFPs for cross-functional, data-centric engagements.
* Maintains sales pipeline visibility and drives opportunities to closure through strategic planning and execution.
* What we expect of you:
* Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in deployment of private/public cloud solutions. Or, 11+ years of experience in deployment of private/public cloud solutions
* Knowledge and skill level in identified competencies meet minimum requirements for role
* Financial Services background
* Previous direct customer consulting experience or equivalent understanding of role responsibilities
* Proven expertise in architecting and implementing modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Databricks)
* Deep knowledge of data integration, transformation, and automation tooling (e.g., Fivetran, dbt, Informatica, Terraform)
* Strong understanding of data governance platforms, metadata management, and compliance frameworks
* Proficiency in business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Looker
* Demonstrated ability to align technical capabilities with business outcomes and data strategy roadmaps
* Experience leading C-level customer conversations and consulting engagements focused on analytics transformation and AI enablement
* Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex ideas in a clear and compelling way
* Strong mentoring and coaching abilities to support team development and consulting excellence
* Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, accelerate practice maturity, and deliver reusable IP that scales across teams
* Experience delivering multi-million-dollar data modernization or analytics engagements a plus
* Familiarity with enterprise-scale AI/ML deployments, including LLM integration patterns and MLOps best practices a plus
* Prior experience developing frameworks, methodologies, or assessments for data maturity and platform readiness a plus
* Demonstrated experience in the selling and delivery of multi-million-dollar enterprise-size, complex projects a plus
