About the Role

Title: Contract Recruiter (3 - 6 months with potential extension)

Reports to: Head of Talent Acquisition

Location: Austin, TX

Hours: Full-time equivalent (40hrs/wk)

CharterUP is looking for a Contract Recruiter who knows how to deliver in high-growth, high-pressure startup environments. This is not a role for process lovers or people waiting on direction. It is for recruiters who move fast, take ownership, and know how to close. You’ll run full-cycle recruiting across technical, go-to-market, and corporate roles while the business is scaling in real time. Priorities will shift. Timelines will be aggressive. The bar will stay high. Your job is to execute. If you need perfect structure, this won’t be a fit. If you thrive in momentum, ambiguity, and real accountability, you’ll do very well here.

What You’ll Do

  • Own full-cycle recruiting end to end across technical, GTM, and G&A roles, from intake through offer close
  • Source aggressively and creatively, building pipelines of high-quality, often passive talent
  • Move fast without sacrificing judgment, balancing urgency with hiring quality
  • Partner tightly with hiring managers, driving clarity, alignment, and decisions
  • Run multiple searches in parallel and keep them moving forward without hand-holding
  • Provide clear visibility into pipeline health, risks, and progress through concise updates
  • Adapt quickly as priorities change and new roles emerge
  • Deliver a strong candidate experience even while operating at speed

What You’ll Bring

  • 4+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with meaningful time in Series A–C or similarly scrappy environments
  • Demonstrated ability to hire across functions, including technical, sales, and corporate roles
  • Strong sourcing instincts, especially with passive candidates
  • Operational discipline, able to manage volume, prioritize effectively, and close roles
  • Comfort working directly with senior leaders, pushing when needed and owning outcomes
  • Fluency with modern recruiting tools, including Greenhouse, LinkedIn Recruiter, and Google Workspace
  • High tolerance for ambiguity, limited resources, and fast pivots
  • Bias toward action, accountability, and results over optics

Recruiting Process

  • Step 1 - Video call: Talent Acquisition interview
  • Step 2 - Video call: Hiring Manager interview
  • Step 3 - Video call: Team interviews
  • Step 4 - Offer & reference check
  • Welcome aboard!
