The Role

We’re looking for a Technical Designer who can combine strong UI design implementation skills with player-first thinking to craft intuitive, immersive, and visually striking user interfaces in Unreal Engine.

This role sits at the intersection of design, art, and engineering. You’ll be responsible for both visual and technical execution (layout, functionality, motion) of in-game UI, helping ensure players can seamlessly engage with our worlds without breaking immersion.

What You’ll Do
  • Implement static and animated user interfaces that are easy to understand, easy to navigate, and convey information for effective end user experience.
  • Execute UI design in engine with a keen eye for detail at all levels – keeping in mind the overall art treatment, screen-to-screen- UI placement, and data structures, while applying and maintaining consistency throughout the entire project interface.
  • Ensure UI readability, accessibility, and responsiveness across platforms
  • Communicate and collaborate with UI and UX designers, UI engineers, technical designers and more to deliver features on time, in line with the art direction, and with the players best interest in mind.
  • Ensure our UI is optimal with continued iteration and development.
  • Routinely identify, implement, document, and advocate UI Blueprint architecture best practices and workflows to improve team effectiveness.
What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience in UI technical design for games or interactive media
  • Strong proficiency with Unreal Engine and Blueprint scripting is required.
  • A strong eye for quality and are always seeking to improve.
  • Desire to solve problems and ability to think both technically and artistically, considering accessibility and optimization in your work.
  • Strong understanding of engine technologies, optimization, and data structures.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Ability to analyze and solve sophisticated technical and design problems.
  • Experience building complex real-time user interfaces.
  • Ability to iterate & collaborate under deadlines & production constraints.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working on horror or atmospheric games
  • Motion design or UI animation skills
  • In-Engine UI Materials knowledge is a major plus.
  • Programming experience (C++, C#, etc.) is a plus.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards in games
