Role Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Sales, the Account Executive Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving sales and expanding the reach of CORE Learning’s products and services. This position is responsible for identifying leads, nurturing client relationships, and closing sales, while also leading key initiatives such as sales presentations, training sessions, and conference engagements in the East Region.

The Account Executive Specialist will bring both strategic thinking and technical fluency to the sales process, helping to streamline systems and represent CORE Learning as a trusted advisor and thought leader in the field. This role is ideal for a confident, experienced salesperson with a deep understanding of the Science of Reading and the needs of Multilingual Learners, and a desire to lead from the front.

CORE is a virtual organization, and this employee can be based anywhere in the United States, with a strong preference for candidates located in Texas. CORE has business hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. This role requires a minimum of 25% travel.

Essential Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Sales Leadership & Client Engagement

  • Demonstrate proficiency in consultative selling by uncovering client needs, guiding decision-making, and positioning solutions that drive student and system-level outcomes.
  • Own the full sales cycle: generate leads, conduct discovery, tailor presentations, and close deals.
  • Apply deep knowledge of the Science of Reading and Multilingual Learners to effectively match solutions to client needs.
  • Serve as a lead presenter for virtual and in-person sales presentations and demos.
  • Coordinate with the Client Success and Implementation team for seamless post-sale transitions and long-term relationship building.

Strategic Outreach & Pipeline Development

  • Conduct targeted outreach, including cold calls and follow-ups, to build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
  • Research and analyze potential customer segments using online tools and databases.
  • Identify and pursue high-value district-wide opportunities with strategic precision.

Conference & Networking Representation

  • Represent CORE Learning as a featured speaker, panelist, or keynote presenter at industry events and conferences.
  • Proactively network with education leaders and decision-makers to expand brand presence and uncover new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to elevate CORE’s visibility and thought leadership in key markets.

Internal Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement and Marketing to align outreach with campaign strategies.
  • Organize and lead internal training on products, sales tactics, and value messaging.
  • Mentor junior team members and support cross-functional collaboration on complex deals.
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Partnerships team to coordinate outreach, align messaging, and maximize impact in priority states and districts.

Administrative & Reporting Duties

  • Maintain accurate CRM records (e.g., Salesforce) of leads, opportunities, and client touchpoints.
  • Prepare detailed sales activity reports and pipeline updates for leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales operations through systems and process optimization.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in educational sales, business development, or related roles
  • Demonstrated success in lead generation, cold outreach, and closing deals
  • Deep knowledge of structured literacy, the Science of Reading, and math pedagogy
  • Experience with Multilingual Learners and a strong understanding of urban school systems

Benefits

This is an Exempt position, with a base annual salary of $89,250. This position also includes a generous incentive compensation plan based on achievement of sales targets.  CORE is committed to transparency and equity in compensation. Therefore, compensation offers are not negotiable.

We also offer a generous benefits package that includes take-as-you-need vacation time, group medical, dental, and vision plans, disability and life insurance plans, and an employer-sponsored 401K retirement plan with a 5% employer contribution and no vesting period.
