The Corporate Development Manager (CDM) will join iMentor’s 10-person Development team, which is collectively responsible for raising $22M. The CDM will report to the Managing Director of Institutional Partnerships (MDIP) and will be focused on providing research, writing, and grants management support for the maintenance and growth of our corporate portfolio. Under the guidance of the MDIP and Director of Corporate Partnerships, the CDM will project manage and write LOIs, proposals, and reports; draft e-mails, meeting agendas, decks; and provide prospect research to uncover new opportunities. The ideal candidate is one who is a self-starter; an excellent writer, storyteller, and information synthesizer; highly organized; detail-oriented; and a cross-functional and collaborative project manager. This is an internal role for an individual who loves the writing, project management, and grants management side of institutional fundraising.

Development Writing (50%)

  • Support 3 frontline fundraisers to write proposals and grant reports for a pipeline of 50-75 national institutional partners at the $100K-$1M giving range.
  • Draft event and meeting follow-up materials for new partnership cultivation which may include pitch decks, one-pagers, and concept notes/LOIs.
  • Research and qualify corporate prospects for fit to strengthen iMentor’s revenue pipeline and generate new sources of support.

Grants and Moves Management (50%)

  • Proactively manage internal grants and stewardship calendar to ensure corporate deliverables (applications, reports, stewardship touchpoints) are executed in a timely manner.
  • Own internal administration processes for frontline fundraisers, such as logging contacts, meetings, tasks, deliverables, outreach, and campaigns.
  • Draft e-mail outreach, meeting agendas, and meeting follow-up materials upon request for frontline fundraisers. 
  • Ensure accuracy of forecasting and opportunity status data in Salesforce for corporate partnership pipeline and portfolio.
  • Build relationships with key departments within iMentor – e.g., program, finance, and research and evaluation – to aggregate data and qualitative information that will help inform and tailor funder reports.
  • Partner with key departments on corporate partnership execution and recognition – e.g. working with Volunteer Engagement team to plan corporate mentorship events; or engaging Marketing & Communications team to fulfill sponsorship recognition benefits.

Qualifications

  • 5 years professional experience, with at least 3 years in relevant field with demonstrated success in relationship building, grants management, and proposal and report writing; experience in the nonprofit sector a must.
  • Excellent grant writing skills with the ability to articulate clear, persuasive, and concise ideas.
  • Experience building compelling PowerPoint decks preferred.
  • Displays exceptional project management skills while balancing multiple, complex projects in a highly deadline-driven environment.
  • Flexible and adaptive to effectively manage changing priorities and new opportunities.
  • Salesforce experience required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary $70,000 – 75,000 commensurate with experience
  • Up to 100% employer funded comprehensive medical and dental coverage
