About Base

Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.

About the Role

Video is one of the most important ways we tell the Base story, from performance creative and product education to launches and larger brand moments.

We're looking for a Creative Content Specialist who can independently take projects from a rough brief through final delivery. You'll shoot, edit, and produce a wide range of content while working closely with the creative and marketing teams. This is a hands-on role for someone who moves quickly, has strong creative instincts, and knows how to make great work without needing a large crew or a perfect brief.

What You'll Do
  • Own video projects end to end, from concept and pre-production through shooting, editing, and final delivery.

  • Shoot and direct productions independently, including product, homeowner, install, interview, and social content.

  • Edit paid and organic creative, product education, and launch content across Meta, YouTube, and other channels.

  • Turn loose briefs and ideas into strong creative, making decisions about what to shoot, how to tell the story, and what the final asset needs to accomplish.

  • Partner with senior creative content producer and the broader creative team on larger campaigns and productions.

  • Work closely with Marketing to bring a performance mindset to paid creative, developing new concepts, hooks, formats, and iterations based on what we learn.

  • Handle the fundamentals of production craft, including lighting, audio, color, motion, and finishing.

  • Maintain organized footage, project files, and reusable assets so our content library gets more valuable over time.

  • Use AI and new creative tools where they help us move faster or make better work.

  • Stay close to culture, creative trends, and emerging formats, and bring ideas for how Base can use them in a way that feels like us.

What You'll Bring
  • A strong portfolio or reel showing work you've both shot and edited.

  • 2-4 years of experience independently running shoots and taking projects from idea to finished asset.

  • Strong editing skills in Premiere Pro. Experience with After Effects, Photoshop, or similar tools is a plus.

  • Strong visual instincts and a high bar for craft, even when moving quickly.

  • An understanding of what makes paid and organic video effective, from hooks and pacing to storytelling and conversion.

  • The ability to work from an ambiguous brief, figure out what you need, and make good creative decisions without a lot of oversight.

  • Comfort balancing multiple projects, shifting priorities, and fast turnarounds.

  • A willingness to be hands-on. Sometimes that means assisting on a larger shoot, and sometimes it means grabbing a camera and making something that afternoon.

Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.

Our Values
  • First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.

  • Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.

  • Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.

  • Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.

  • Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.

  • Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we’re creating. We work in-person. It’s not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.

  • Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.

Do the best work of your life at Base.
