About selfpublishing.com

🎨 Creative Director (Social Content + Strategy)

📍 Austin, TX (West Lake Hills) | 🏢 On-site, 5 days a week
Join one of the fastest-growing companies in publishing — and help us change lives through books.

About SelfPublishing.com

We’re on a mission to help 100,000 people publish a book by 2035 — impacting over 120 million readers through what we call Leveraged Impact. (Curious? Check out our founder’s TEDx talk 👉 here).

At SelfPublishing.com, we empower purpose-driven people to share their stories through books — and we do it through a mix of online education, expert coaching, accountability, and done-for-you publishing services.

We’ve made the INC 5000 list four times (2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022) — and we’re not slowing down anytime soon. 🚀

About the Role

We’re looking for a Creative Director with a big imagination, bold ideas, and a love for storytelling that moves people to action.

This is your chance to lead an insanely talented team of designers, strategists, and creators — and build content that not only turns heads but drives real revenue.

If you’ve ever looked at a campaign and thought, “I could make that 10x more engaging”… we want you.

What You’ll Do

Lead the vision. Build and execute a content and social strategy that grows engagement, amplifies our brand, and drives measurable growth.
🎥 Oversee all things creative. From Instagram Reels to YouTube series to thought-leadership posts on LinkedIn — you’ll guide the creation of content that inspires and converts.
👩‍🎨 Empower your team. Lead, mentor, and inspire our creators and designers to do their best work (and have fun doing it).
📈 Measure what matters. Use data and insights to refine strategy, report on wins, and continually raise the creative bar.
🤝 Collaborate cross-functionally. Work with marketing, sales, and product to make sure every campaign aligns with our larger business goals.
🔥 Stay ahead of trends. You’re the first to spot what’s next — and you know how to adapt it for our brand voice and audience.

What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience leading content and social media teams (bonus points if you’ve worked in publishing or creative services)
  • A track record of creative campaigns that drove real results — engagement, leads, sales, you name it
  • Strong leadership chops — you love building up your team as much as building out a brand
  • Comfort with design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.)
  • A love of data and optimization — because creative is only as good as the impact it makes
  • You’re plugged into the latest platform trends and understand what works (and why)
  • Killer communication and storytelling skills — you make words and visuals work for you
What Sets You Apart

💡 You naturally connect content with revenue — your ideas don’t just look great, they work.
📚 Experience in publishing? Huge plus.
📱 You’ve built (or helped build) social brands with real audience growth.
🎯 You have a portfolio that showcases your creative range and the results to back it up.
🔥 You love shaking things up — bringing innovation and storytelling together to make something unforgettable.

Why You’ll Love It Here

You’ll be joining a passionate, fast-growing team that believes books can change lives — and we’re proving it every day. We work hard, celebrate big wins, and love what we do.

If you’re ready to create, lead, and make an impact — let’s talk.

👉 Apply now to join us in Austin.
Remote applicants, we love you — but this one’s in-person only.
