Title D365 CE Senior Technical Consultant

Description

The D365 CE Senior Technical Consultant designs, configures, extends, tests, and supports Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform solutions. This role works under the guidance of a Technical Lead or Solution Architect while independently owning assigned technical work packages, integrations, automation, data migration tasks, and build documentation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Configure and extend Dynamics 365 CE and Dataverse using model-driven apps, forms, views, business rules, business process flows, security roles, Power Automate, and reusable solution components.
  • Develop client-specific extensions using JavaScript, plug-ins, custom APIs, Power Platform CLI, C#, Azure Functions, and integration services when configuration alone is not sufficient.
  • Build, test, and troubleshoot integrations with ERP, marketing, external web portals, document management, reporting, and other enterprise systems.
  • Assist with data migration activities including mapping, transformation logic, validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution.
  • Participate in fit-gap sessions, technical design reviews, sprint planning, demos, UAT support, defect triage, deployment planning, and go-live readiness activities.
  • Create and maintain technical design documentation, deployment notes, unit test evidence, admin guides, and knowledge-transfer materials.
  • Follow MCA delivery standards for DevOps, ALM, solution layering, branching, peer review, and environment promotion.
  • Apply practical awareness of Copilot, AI Builder, and automation opportunities within CE/CX use cases while escalating architecture, security, and governance questions appropriately.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience with Dynamics 365 Sales and/or Customer Service, Dataverse, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Platform administration.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript, C#, plug-ins, custom APIs, REST/OData, SQL concepts, Azure DevOps, source control, and deployment practices.
  • Ability to estimate assigned work, communicate risks early, and deliver quality work products on time and within scope.
  • Consulting skills including clear written communication, client-facing professionalism, documentation discipline, and collaborative problem solving.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps or similar tools for backlog traceability, source control, release documentation, deployment planning, defect tracking, and sprint-level delivery governance.
  • Recommended certifications: PL-200 and/or PL-400; MB-280, MB-230, or other D365 CE credentials preferred.
