Title: D365 CE Technical Solution Architect (Technical Lead)

Location: Remote

Description

The D365 CE Technical Lead / Solution Architect owns the technical design and delivery integrity of enterprise CE/CX solutions across Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Customer Insights, Dataverse, Power Platform, integrations, data migration, security, and AI/Copilot capabilities. This role partners with functional architects, delivery leadership, presales, and client stakeholders to translate business outcomes into scalable, secure, supportable, and governable Microsoft Business Applications solutions.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end technical architecture for D365 CE and Power Platform programs, including solution topology, Dataverse design, integration patterns, security model, environment strategy, and ALM.
  • Own technical design authority across configuration, custom code, plug-ins, JavaScript, custom APIs, Power Automate, Power Pages, Azure services, and third-party integrations.
  • Partner with functional architects to convert business capabilities and process requirements into scalable solution components, reusable patterns, and implementation work packages.
  • Define and govern ALM, DevOps, branching, solution layering, release management, automated deployment, test strategy, and production readiness expectations.
  • Establish Azure DevOps expectations for work-item traceability, source control, build/release pipelines, deployment approvals, environment promotion, and auditability across client delivery teams.
  • Provide technical leadership to consultants, engineers, offshore teams, and client technical resources through design reviews, code reviews, build guidance, and issue resolution.
  • Assess integration, data migration, security, performance, licensing, and non-functional requirements early enough to identify delivery risk and shape practical options.
  • Support presales pursuits through technical discovery, architecture options, estimates, assumptions, risk language, ROMs, and SOW input.
  • Remain sufficiently hands-on to validate architecture feasibility during delivery, including design workshops, critical reviews, technical risk resolution, and transition from presales commitments into executable delivery plans.
  • Identify appropriate use cases for embedded Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio agents, AI Builder, and automation while applying responsible AI, security, and data governance considerations.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, Dataverse, model-driven apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Microsoft Power Platform administration.
  • Deep understanding of Dataverse security, business units, teams, roles, field-level security, auditing, data model design, and environment strategy.
  • Experience designing integrations using APIs, Azure Integration Services, Service Bus, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, dataflows, virtual tables, Dual-write where appropriate, and/or third-party middleware.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint document integration, Outlook integration, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric concepts as they relate to CE/CX programs.
  • Ability to communicate architecture decisions to executives, business stakeholders, technical teams, and delivery leadership in plain business language.
  • Recommended certifications: PL-600 equivalent/successor path where applicable, PL-400, PL-200, MB-280 or relevant D365 CE credentials, and Azure fundamentals or architecture credentials.
