About the Role:
We are seeking a DCIM Administrator to build and run our Data Center Infrastructure Management program. This technical role is part of the Infrastructure Operations organization, which is responsible for building, scaling, and running one of the world's largest and most important cloud networks. Cloudflare's global network spans more than 330 cities, and is a key strategic asset that supports all of our customers and products.
You are the operational backbone and workflow gatekeeper for all physical changes across our global network. Your meticulous work ensures every Move, Add, and Change (MAC) is executed only through a validated Nlyte work order, driving the highest level of data accuracy essential for supporting our edge and core security and performance services.
We operate in a fast-paced environment where you will be expected to drive both project delivery and operational excellence through continuous improvement, standardization, and optimization. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the successful deployment of CAPEX investments, ensuring our infrastructure scales ahead of demand.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Project Managers, Capacity Planning, Finance, and Security to deliver on ambitious group initiatives.
- Manage key third-party vendors and contractors, holding them accountable for performance and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Be a role model and champion for continuous improvement, standardization, optimization, and automation.
- Workflow Execution: Administer and manage the Nlyte Workflow/Work Order processes, including; issuing, tracking, and closing all physical MAC tickets.
- Enforce strict adherence to the defined process by global technicians.
- Data Integrity Champion: Perform daily data entry, manage automated asset discovery tools, and reconcile physical inventory against Nlyte records to guarantee 99.5%+ accuracy.
- Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM): Own the entire asset data chain from receiving (scanning/logging) through deployment and decommissioning.
- Model Library Management: Maintain the Nlyte Materials Catalog, ensuring all new hardware models have precise, validated resource profiles (power, cooling, rack elevations) to enable Analyst validation.
- Field Training & Support: Provide hands-on training and support for global technicians on using the Nlyte mobile app, scanning tools, and required workflow procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Logistics, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in IT Asset Management or DCIM administration (Nlyte experience is a strong advantage).
- Direct experience administering a workflow or change management system, with a focus on discipline and process enforcement in a multi-site environment.
- Experience with change management in ERP and asset management transformation efforts.
- Experience operating in a high-velocity environment involving geographic dispersed Data Centers across various time zones.
- Technical Competencies:
- High proficiency in physical inventory control, including barcode/RFID systems.
- Deep familiarity with data center infrastructure, including server hardware, network hardware, rack elevation/density, and power distribution
- Knowledge of structured cabling, and cabling standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) or basic SQL.
- Expert in workflow Management (MAC Process): Proven experience managing a high-volume Move, Add, Change queue.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Meticulous Attention to Detail: A "Zero-Defect" mindset regarding data entry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Documentation & SOP Creation: Experience writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for remote hands technicians.
- Remote Training Ability: Experience training or guiding remote teams.
