At Cloudflare, we have an ambitious goal: to help build a better Internet. Our global network powers trillions of requests per month, securing and accelerating applications without requiring additional hardware, software, or code changes. Our Developer Platform, including Cloudflare Workers, Workers AI, R2, KV, Durable Objects, and Pages, is redefining how developers build and deploy applications at scale.
About the Team
The GTM Developer team is a startup within Cloudflare, driving the go-to-market strategy for our developer products and shaping the future of application development. We are at the forefront of a fundamental shift in how developers build, particularly with the rise of AI and LLMs. Our mission is to evolve beyond traditional developer relations and create a new paradigm for how developers adopt and succeed with cutting-edge technology. We are a team of builders and storytellers, passionate about empowering developers and helping build a better Internet.
What you'll do
We are seeking an engineering leader with an entrepreneurial mindset to guide our Developer Adoption team. This is not a traditional developer relations role. We're looking for a former VP of Engineering, CTO, or a similar leader who has built things and understands the developer journey from the inside out. You will be tasked with iteratively defining the future of your own role and the function itself, translating market signals into a strategic, evolving organization. In this role, you will:
  • Provide the vision and engineering leadership to redefine how Cloudflare engages with the developer community in the age of AI.
  • Lead and mentor our existing high-performing team of developer advocates, educators, and community managers, guiding their evolution and impact.
  • Operate with "startup energy"-acting with autonomy and hunger to carry significant responsibility and drive our developer GTM strategy.
  • Champion the developer experience, engaging with peers across Product and Engineering to translate community feedback into a world-class platform.
  • Act as a key evangelist and storyteller, articulating a compelling and optimistic vision for the future of development on Cloudflare.
  • Cultivate a passionate, hard-working, and collaborative culture, inspiring your team to overcome challenges and innovate.
Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience
We are looking for a leader who is more of a founder than a function manager. Your passion, optimism, and ability to build are more important than a traditional career path in developer relations.
  • Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role (e.g., VP of Engineering, CTO), having built and scaled products and teams.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and "startup energy," with a history of building things, whether in a successful venture or a passionate side project.
  • A deep empathy for developers and an understanding of the fundamental shifts happening in technology, especially around AI and LLMs.
  • Exceptional storytelling ability with the passion and excitement to inspire both internal teams and the external developer community.
  • The ability to thrive in a highly autonomous environment, comfortable with ambiguity and defining your own path forward.
  • A genuine optimism and resilience to navigate challenges and lead with a can-do attitude.

Compensation:
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.
For San Francisco Bay Area based hires: Estimated annual salary of $299,000 - $365,000
