About Base

Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.

About the Role

Base’s warehousing and logistics operations are scaling fast—and right now, we lack the analytical infrastructure to measure whether they’re scaling well. We are seeking an Operations Specialist to own the financial and process analysis function for our Deployments Warehousing & Logistics team: building the models, KPIs, and reporting that tell us where costs are high, where processes are breaking down, and where we should invest next.

This is a high-visibility, high-leverage role. You will be the analytical engine behind some of our most consequential operational decisions—from new market sourcing to logistics cost optimization to financial close. The right candidate is equally at home in a spreadsheet and a warehouse, and brings the rigor of a finance or strategy background to a team that moves fast.

What You’ll Do

  • Help capture our warehousing and logistics key metrics—tracking cost per install, cost per transfer, and cost per location across all active markets.

  • Partner with Finance and Accounting to develop and maintain business processes surrounding our deployed hardware

  • Collaborate on month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate inventory and transaction capture.

  • Identify process inefficiencies through data analysis and present structured, evidence-based recommendations to improve cost, speed, or quality.

  • Own process documentation for active and newly launched markets to ensure operational consistency and create a baseline for continuous improvement.

  • Develop models and financial analysis to support build vs. buy decisions and aid contract evaluations

What You’ll Bring

  • 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, operations analytics, strategy, or supply chain in a high-growth environment.

  • Strong financial modeling skills—able to build unit economics models, cost-benefit analyses, and scenario models from scratch in Excel or Google Sheets.

  • Experience defining and tracking operational KPIs; comfort building dashboards or reports in BI tools (Looker, Grafana, Tableau, or similar).

  • SQL proficiency —you’ll need to pull and manipulate data independently.

  • Ability to translate messy operational data into clear insights and concise recommendations for senior stakeholders.

  • Comfort collaborating with Finance and Accounting on cost modeling, financial close processes, and intercompany transactions.

  • Experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations is a strong plus—you need to understand what the numbers represent.

About the Team

The Deployments Warehousing & Logistics team is responsible for the physical infrastructure that makes Base installs possible—managing warehouse locations, orchestrating inter-warehouse transfers, running final-mile logistics, and ensuring inventory accuracy across our internal systems. We solve the difficult, high impact problems that determine whether crews show up to job sites ready to work. Joining this team means owning processes that directly impact Base’s ability to scale and deliver on its mission.

Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.

Our Values
  • First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.

  • Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.

  • Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.

  • Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.

  • Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.

  • Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we’re creating. We work in-person. It’s not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.

  • Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.

Do the best work of your life at Base.
