This role will be based onsite at our Headquarters in Austin, TX.

How You Will Make an Impact

Atlas Energy is a leading provider of innovative energy solutions committed to operational excellence, sustainability, and technological advancement. Our teams leverage data, automation, and cutting‑edge software to drive efficiency across the energy value chain. As a Developer Intern, you will help build tools and applications that power critical business decisions and enhance our technology ecosystem. The Developer Intern will work closely with senior engineers and analysts to design, build, and test software applications that support Atlas Energy’s operational and analytics platforms. This internship is ideal for students who are passionate about technology, eager to learn, and interested in applying software development skills within the energy industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, developing, and testing internal software tools and applications.
  • Work with APIs, databases, and cloud services to support data flow and application functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies.
  • Troubleshoot bugs, perform debugging tasks, and suggest improvements to existing systems.
  • Document technical processes, workflows, and system updates.
  • Support the implementation of automation and optimization initiatives across business units.

Required Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Foundational knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  • Understanding of databases (SQL or NoSQL).
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of web development frameworks (React, Angular, .NET, Node.js).
  • Exposure to data engineering concepts or business intelligence tools.
  • Interest in the energy industry, sustainability, or industrial technology.
