You will
- Own the end-to-end mechanical design of radio filter units and related mechanical parts, from concept to volume production
- Develop mechanical design solutions for radio filter units, enclosures and associated components, ensuring robustness, manufacturability and high performance
- Drive pre-development of new concepts, materials and building practices to support future radio platforms
- Participate in and contribute to building practice studies, design rules and common mechanical design principles across sites
- Review mechanical design solutions, propose improvements and secure compliance with EMC, PIM, thermal, environmental and ingress protection requirements
- Perform practical work with prototypes, including build, assembly, tuning and verification in the lab and relevant environments
- Plan and execute environmental verification and robustness testing in line with internal and external standards
- Support troubleshooting and problem solving in development and production, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Collaborate closely with filter designers, radio designers, sourcing, production, production test and engineering, as well as external suppliers and manufacturing partners
- Drive continuous improvements of products, design methods and ways of working within the mechanical design area
You will bring
- BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education
- 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, including product development and verification for complex electro-mechanical products
- Very good knowledge in die-casting (aluminum), injection molding (plastic) and sheet metal design, including design for manufacturing and cost efficiency
- Very good understanding of other manufacturing techniques and their implications on design, tolerances and quality
- Experience working with radio filters or RF-related mechanical design (e.g. cavities, housings, shielding, PIM-sensitive structures) is a strong advantage
- Proficiency in modern 3D CAD and PDM/PLM tools (such as Pro/ENGINEER / Creo and PDM Link, or equivalent systems)
- Very good knowledge of environmental and reliability requirements (temperature, vibration, humidity, corrosion, IP-rating etc.) and relevant design standards, including how to verify them in practice
- Good understanding of electronics building practices and mechanical design rules for PCB/PBA integration and component robustness
- Experience working with suppliers as black-box and grey-box partners, including requirement handling, design reviews and industrialization support
- Ability to communicate in spoken and written English; Japanese language skills are an advantage
