Meet the Team

You’ll join the Wireless MCU – Digital Design team, which is responsible for the integrated circuit (IC) design of digital components across the entire system-on-chip (SoC). The team’s work spans from architecture and design through verification, ensuring that each block integrates seamlessly into high-performance, low-power SoCs. By combining digital and analog expertise, the team drives innovation in embedded systems for a wide range of wireless applications.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the digital IC design and development of system-on-chip (SoC) architectures for wireless microcontroller products.

  • Design, implement, and validate digital logic blocks for integration into complex mixed-signal SoC solutions.

  • Apply knowledge of VLSI design principles to support block-level and system-level digital design activities, including RTL development and integration.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analog design, verification, firmware, and systems engineers, to deliver high-quality silicon solutions.

  • Develop models, simulations, and verification plans to ensure functionality, performance, and design quality.

  • Analyze design results, debug issues, and support root-cause investigations throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Participate in design reviews and technical discussions, providing recommendations to improve design quality, methodologies, and development efficiency.

  • Support silicon bring-up, validation, and characterization activities as needed.

Skills You Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Academic or project experience in VLSI design, digital IC design, digital embedded systems, computer architecture, or SoC development.

  • Understanding of digital design fundamentals, including RTL design, finite state machines, timing concepts, and digital logic implementation.

  • Experience with hardware description languages such as Verilog or SystemVerilog through coursework, research, internships, or project work.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.

The following skills will be considered a plus:

  • Internship, co-op, research, or project experience related to digital IC design, SoC development, or semiconductor product development.

  • Exposure to digital verification methodologies, simulation tools, and verification environments.

  • Experience with industry-standard EDA tools for design, synthesis, timing analysis, or verification.

  • Knowledge of embedded systems, microcontroller architectures, or wireless communication systems.

  • Exposure to mixed-signal design concepts and integration of analog and digital subsystems.

  • Participation in engineering competitions, technical organizations, open-source hardware projects, or relevant student leadership activities.
