Lead and manage a team delivering advanced AI/HPC and data center infrastructure solutions. Oversee planning, budgeting, solution design, pre-sales technical support, vendor enablement, reference architectures, KPI reporting, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful deployment of GPU‑accelerated compute, networking, storage, and facility solutions.
As a Director of Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AI/HPC), you will provide leadership and oversee a team of experienced technical professionals and/or managers delivering advanced technical expertise to internal and external customers. This role focuses on supporting complex data center and infrastructure environments, including AI, HPC, and accelerated compute solutions.
This position operates at the intersection of technical support, solution design, and customer engagement—helping translate customer requirements into practical infrastructure approaches while ensuring successful implementation alignment.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, budgeting, administration, and management of team capacity, operations, and strategic initiatives supporting advanced data center and AI/HPC infrastructure environments.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal and external customers, including participating in technical discovery and pre-sales support activities such as requirement validation, solution alignment, and design discussions.
- Partner closely with sales and solution stakeholders to support customer pursuits by contributing technical expertise, validating proposed architectures, and helping position infrastructure solutions effectively.
- Act as a technical advisor to customers, helping walk through infrastructure designs, deployment considerations, and implementation approaches for complex environments.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of reference architectures, solution patterns, and best practices for AI, GPU-enabled systems, and data center infrastructure.
- Support complex infrastructure design discussions across domains such as compute, GPU platforms, networking, storage, and facility considerations.
- Oversee vendor training activities and technical enablement for team members and the broader TSS organization, including emerging technologies and platforms.
- Develop and approve processes, procedures, and policies to drive continual improvements in technical support delivery and customer experience.
- Maintain reporting of KPIs and provide insights to senior management, incorporating learnings from advanced infrastructure engagements.
- Develop, review, and approve technical documentation including best practices, architecture guidance, troubleshooting methodologies, and customer-facing materials.
- Coach and mentor a team of experienced technical professionals and managers, strengthening capabilities in advanced infrastructure, customer engagement, and solution support.
- Communicate with engineering, applications engineering, marketing, category management, supply chain, and quality teams regarding product gaps, emerging technologies, and customer needs.
- Deliver presentations to senior management, customers, and industry audiences, including technical workshops and pre-sales engagements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- 13+ years of experience in high performance computin infrastructure, data center technologies, or related technical domains including design, implementation, or support.
- 2+ years of experience leading a team of at least 6 direct reports preferred.
- Experience supporting or contributing to customer-facing technical solutioning or pre-sales activities.
- Strong knowledge or experience with data center infrastructure, server platforms, and advanced compute technologies, including exposure to GPU-based systems or AI workloads.
- Expertise with leading technology vendors such as NVIDIA, Dell Lenovo, Supermicro, Broadcom, Qualcomm, and Intel, and understanding of their role in modern infrastructure ecosystems.
- Exposure to AI inference, accelerated compute, or HPC environments, including relevant certifications or equivalent experience, is required.
- Understanding of infrastructure design considerations including compute, networking, storage, and facility constraints.
- NVIDIA AI certifcation preferred
- CCIE certification or equivalent preferred
- Strong leadership, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong presentation skills with experience engaging technical and senior-level audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
