Basic Function:

Reporting directly to the CEO and COO, the Director of Business Development, will oversee the business development efforts of all ATR locations in the US.

The Director of Business Development Manager will be responsible for leading a high-performing team of Business Development Managers (BDMs), developing strategic partnerships, identifying new revenue streams, and expanding our customer base. This role will focus heavily on sectors including technology, manufacturing, education, healthcare, and government entities concerned with electronics recycling and sustainability.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and lead a team of Business Development

  • Managers to exceed revenue and customer acquisition targets.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive growth strategies

  • aligned with the company’s vision and sustainability goals.

  • Partnership Development: Build and maintain relationships with enterprise clients, OEMs, ITAD vendors, municipalities, and recycling partners.

  • Performance Management: Set KPIs for BDMs, track progress, and coach team members to consistently improve results.

  • Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new markets, customer segments, and partnership opportunities.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing, Operations, and Compliance teams to ensure seamless customer experiences and alignment with environmental regulations.

  • Reporting: Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and market

  • intelligence updates to executive leadership.

  • Industry Expertise: Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes (e.g., R2v3, e-Stewards), and sustainability initiatives affecting electronic waste management.

  • Builds and fosters team cohesion.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or related field (MBA preferred).

  • Demonstrated experience in a director or Executive role.

  • 7+ years in business development or sales leadership roles, with at least 3 years leading a team.

  • Experience in Electronic Recycling work environment a plus.

  • Knowledge of computers and computer systems is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in electronic recycling, IT asset disposition (ITAD), sustainability services, or environmental compliance sectors strongly preferred.

  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Excellent people skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills including goal setting, motivating, training, and mentorship.

  • Good organization and time management.

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Keen strategic thinking and planning.

  • Understanding of budget management and financial monitoring.

  • Effective conflict resolution.

  • In-depth knowledge of the industry is a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • Professional appearance.

  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.

  • Overnight travel is required – expect 50% Travel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
