Akumin is a leading provider of outpatient radiology and oncology services, partnering with top hospitals and health systems nationwide to deliver advanced diagnostic imaging and exceptional patient care close to home. With a national footprint, cutting-edge technology, and a strong commitment to innovation and patient-centered care, our teams play a vital role in improving outcomes for millions of patients each year.

The Director of Commercial Operations is the connective tissue between Sales, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Analytics. You will own the systems, processes, and data infrastructure that enable a high-performing sales organization with Salesforce as the central operating platform. This role is equal parts strategist, operator, and system architect.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Own the end-to-end sales process and the Salesforce platform that powers it. Manage Salesforce business operations, including the product catalog, pricing rules, workflow automation, and field naming standards. Establish pipeline standards, opportunity hygiene, forecasting cadences, and sales governance reviews.

  • Provide reps with the training, tools, and visibility needed to ramp fast and sell consistently, including onboarding curricula, playbooks, territory frameworks, and compensation plan documentation. Own customer-facing content management and internal sales communications and build rep performance scorecards to track individual and team productivity against defined KPIs. Drive sales tool adoption planning, using root cause analysis to diagnose and eliminate adoption gaps

  • Map current-state workflows across Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations to identify and resolve cross-functional friction points. Drive operational clarity and process automation through RACI definition, SOP documentation, and system-level updates. Serve as the primary commercial stakeholder to the Analytics team, translating business questions into clear reporting requirements, such as utilization, unit economics, and territory performance.

  • Define the core governance framework — commercial policy, rules of engagement, and territory/account assignment governance — that ensures organizational consistency, accountability, and clear escalation paths. Maintain commercial policy documentation, rules of engagement, and territory/account assignment governance. Monitor compliance and lead periodic audits, driving swift remediation through structured corrective actions.

  • Other duties as needed

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3+ years of experience in customer success, sales, analytics, or commercial operations roles

  • Analytical skills with the ability to transform data into insights and actionable recommendations

  • Experience working with reporting tools and systems such as CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), Excel, or Tableau

  • Experience supporting customer success initiatives, account management, or sales performance

  • Experience leading complex projects with multiple cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Finance, IT, Marketing)

  • Demonstrated experience translating business needs into data and systems requirements

  • Understanding of customer dynamics, sales processes, and commercial performance drivers

  • Structured communicator comfortable presenting to senior leadership and/or board members

  • Travel may be required up to 20%

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent) and comfort interpreting dashboards and data models

  • Prior experience in management consulting, strategic business operations, or dedicated CRM program management

  • Experience working alongside a dedicated analytics or data engineering team

  • Exposure to AI agent/automation implementation (e.g., Agentforce, Einstein, other AI-in-CRM tools)

  • Master's Degree or an advanced degree or certification in Radiology or Healthcare Sales is a plus.

At Akumin, we invest in the well-being of our employees, so you can bring your best self to work each day. You can expect to see the following benefits:

  • Competitive compensation

  • Flexible scheduling

  • Cross training opportunities

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
