About The Role:

We are seeking a technically fluent Director of Program Management to lead the team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs) driving delivery across the core Realtor.com® consumer experience. This is not a traditional PMO role. You will be a hands-on delivery leader with a background in developing, delivering, and supporting software products and services at scale, who can go deep on architecture, dependencies, and technical tradeoffs alongside engineering and product leaders. As a key member of the Consumer Product leadership team, you will balance deep technical execution with strategic planning, owning end-to-end program delivery - spanning roadmap clarity, cross-team dependencies, release planning, launch readiness, operational excellence, and post-launch performance.

You will be a key partner to product, engineering, design, data, and go-to-market leaders, clarifying roadmaps, roles, and responsibilities; driving delivery of complex, multi-team programs; and holding all contributors accountable for their deliverables. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and in domains that are still being defined, including the Company's efforts to bring advanced AI capabilities into the consumer experience.

What You’ll Do:

Technical Program Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of the most complex, cross-functional programs across the consumer experience, from early scoping and technical design through launch and post-launch operations.
  • Partner with engineering and product leaders to translate product strategy into executable technical plans, sequencing work across teams, services, and platforms (web, native apps, and backend systems).
  • Identify and resolve technical risks, cross-team dependencies, and architectural tradeoffs early, driving clear decisions and keeping programs moving.
  • Drive accountability across all contributors by establishing clear owners, milestones, and success criteria, and escalating with data when programs are at risk.

Roadmap Clarity & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Work with product, engineering, design, data, sales, and marketing to clarify roadmaps, roles, and responsibilities across teams and initiatives.
  • Facilitate quarterly and annual planning, ensuring priorities, capacity, and dependencies are understood and aligned across the organization.
  • Coordinate release schedules and launch readiness across multiple teams, ensuring high-quality, well-communicated launches for consumers and real estate professionals.
  • Partner with external partners and internal stakeholders on programs that span organizational boundaries, ensuring commitments are aligned and delivered.

Operational Excellence & Scalable Mechanisms

  • Build sustainable, lightweight processes and mechanisms that increase delivery speed and predictability without adding unnecessary overhead.
  • Champion agile and modern program management practices, adapting methodologies to the needs of each team and program.
  • Define and track delivery and operational health metrics, using data to surface insights, improve execution, and inform leadership decisions.
  • Drive operational rigor around launches, incidents, and post-launch reviews, ensuring lessons learned translate into continuous improvement.

Strategic & People Leadership

  • Communicate program strategy, status, risks, and outcomes clearly across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of Technical Program Managers, raising the bar on technical depth, ownership, and delivery excellence.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, transparency, and bias for action, inspiring teams to achieve results in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

What You Bring:

  • Leadership & Experience: 10+ years of technical program management experience in a software applications or internet-related environment, with 7+ years of people management experience leading teams of TPMs or similar technical delivery roles.
  • Technical Fluency: Strong technical grounding, with the ability to engage deeply on system design, cloud computing services (AWS preferred), deployment architecture, APIs, and modern web and mobile development.
  • Program Delivery Expertise: Proven track record managing large-scale projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules for high-traffic consumer products.
  • Methodology & Operational Rigor: Deep experience with agile and other program management methodologies, with a pragmatic approach to applying the right level of process for the problem at hand.
  • Strategic Enablement: Exceptional communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences, with a track record of influencing executive-level stakeholders and driving clarity in ambiguous, emerging domains such as AI.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Master's degree a plus.
