Job Description SummaryGE HealthCare is undergoing a customer transformation with the acquisition of Intelerad and the introduction of innovative software, SaaS, cloud, and AI-enabled solutions. These solutions are designed to help solve some of the biggest challenges across the healthcare industry while advancing a global cloud-first software strategy for health system customers.
The Director, Deal Desk will build and lead the function that sits at the center of every non-standard deal we sell. This role will partner directly with Commercial, Legal, Finance, Product, and Professional Services to structure, price, and approve complex Commercial agreements while protecting margin, revenue recognition integrity, and deal velocity. The role is built around four core tenets: deal strategy and design; deal review and approval; margin analysis and approval; and legal support and contracting development.
The successful candidate will own the deal desk playbook with a mandate to automate - replacing manual, spreadsheet-driven review with automated deal approval flows, automated margin analysis, and automated baseline contract generation, so the team scales without headcount growing linearly with deal volume.

Job Description

Deal Support, Design, and Strategy

  • Partner with Sales leadership on deal structuring — pricing, packaging, contract terms, ramp deals, co-terming, and multi-year discounting strategy.

  • Act as a strategic advisor to Commercial teams on how to structure deals that close faster without eroding deal economics.

  • Creative deal design to support large, strategic customers.

  • Help evolve CPQ configuration, pricing logic, and quote workflows

Deal Review and Approval

  • Serve as the final escalation point for complex, non-standard, and strategic deals, balancing speed with risk.

  • Own and continuously improve the deal desk process: approval workflows, deal desk intake, and SLAs for quote turnaround.

  • Design and maintain the discount approval matrix.

  • Automate the deal approval workflow — rules-based routing and auto-approval thresholds.

  • Build the reporting layer for deal desk: cycle time, win/loss on deal structure, and approval bottlenecks.

Margin Analysis and Approval

  • Analyze deal-level margin and profitability against approved thresholds for appropriate signoff.

  • Partner with Finance/Accounting on revenue recognition implications of deal structures.

  • Own and maintain margin guardrails and floor-pricing models used across all quotes.

  • Automate margin analysis — real-time, rules-driven margin and profitability checks embedded in the quoting flow — to replace manual spreadsheet review and flag exceptions.

  • Track discount leakage and margin erosion trends, surfacing risk to Finance and sales leadership.

Legal Support and Contracting Development

  • Partner with Legal on contract redlines, MSAs, order forms, and non-standard terms.

  • Evolve contract templates, playbooks, and standard-terms libraries in partnership with Legal.

  • Automate baseline contract development.

  • Partner with Legal on contract lifecycle management (CLM) tooling and contracting workflow improvements.

Required Skills

  • Executive Communication: Can translate complex deals and SaaS economics into clear recommendations to support executive decision making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Can partner with other functions (Sales, Finance, Product Management, Legal, Professional Services) to structure deal strategy which ensures we have the optimal design for our business.
  • Change Management and Enablement: is able to lead change management associated with new processes and structures, ensuring adoption and buy-in across global teams. Can support Enablement with tools, training, and governance to support complex SaaS and enterprise software transactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • 7-10+ years of experience in deal desk management, pricing strategy, SaaS monetization, commercial strategy, finance, product strategy, or a related field; healthcare, enterprise software, cloud, or digital health experience preferred.

  • Deep fluency in SaaS commercial models: ARR/ACV, usage-based and hybrid pricing, multi-year discounting, co-terming, and renewal economics.

  • Direct experience partnering with Legal on contract redlines and negotiating non-standard commercial terms

  • Experience with subscription, consumption-based, platform, tiered, user-based, enterprise, and hybrid pricing models.

  • Experience in systems such as CRM, CPQ, CLM

  • Ability to build executive-ready business cases, pricing models, and dashboards that support strategic decision-making.

  • Excellent cross-functional communication and influencing skills, with a proven ability to align Product, Sales, Finance, Legal, Marketing, and senior leadership stakeholders.

  • Experience supporting complex enterprise software transactions, large customer negotiations, or multi-product commercial agreements preferred.

  • Proficiency with financial modeling, business intelligence, or data visualization tools.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a global, matrixed environment.
