Reporting to the Chief Digital & Technology Officer, you will lead the strategic development of Alimentiv’s data architecture,
business intelligence platforms, and analytics capabilities. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing end-to-
end operational data flows, building secure and scalable data repositories in Azure, and establishing right-sized governance
frameworks. In addition, the Director, Enterprise Data will be expected to generate tangible business value from data, using it
not just for reporting, but to drive smarter decisions, improve trial execution, and unlock new opportunities across the
organization.

Responsibilities

  • Data Architecture and Platform Leadership
  • Architect and implement enterprise-grade data platforms in Azure, supporting structured and unstructured data across clinical and corporate domains.
  • Design and maintain scalable data pipelines and repositories that support real-time and batch processing.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with GxP and regulatory standards.

  • Operational & Enterprise Data Strategy
  • Map and optimize end-to-end data flows across clinical operations, including study startup, site management, patient recruitment, and monitoring.
  • Extend data architecture and analytics capabilities to support Finance, HR, BD, and other internal functions.
  • Integrate data from leading clinical applications such as Veeva Vault Clinical, CTMS, and EDC systems, as well as ERP, HRIS, and CRM platforms.

  • Value-driven Insights & Innovation
  • Use data to drive measurable improvements in clinical operations (e.g., optimizing site selection, accelerating patient recruitment, and reducing trial timelines)
  • Move beyond traditional dashboards to develop novel, predictive, and prescriptive analytics that uncover hidden patterns and inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify high-impact use cases where data can solve real business problems.

  • Governance & Compliance
  • Implement right-sized data governance frameworks that balance agility with regulatory compliance.
  • Define data stewardship roles, metadata management practices, and data quality standards.
  • Lead data audits and ensure readiness for regulatory inspections.

  • Analytics, BI, AI/ML Enablement
  • Build and scale business intelligence platforms that deliver actionable insights to clinical and corporate stakeholders.
  • Enable internal functions (i.e., Clinical Data Sciences) by providing the data architecture, infrastructure, and tooling necessary to deliver study-level reporting and analytics to clients.
  • Partner with data scientists to deploy AI/ML models that improve forecasting, risk detection, and operational
  • efficiency.
  • Champion the use of predictive analytics and automation to enhance trial execution and enterprise decision-
  • making.

  • Leadership & Collaboration
  • Build and mentor a high-performing data and BI team, including data engineers, analysts, and architects.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate technical concepts and insights effectively to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree + a minimum of 10 years' related experience in large scale organizational data strategy and leadership; 15+ years preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered given the competencies needed for the role (outlined below) can be demonstrated.

  • Data Architecture Expertise: 10+ years in enterprise data architecture, with deep experience in Azure data services (e.g., Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks, etc.), ETL/ELT pipelines, and data modeling.
  • Clinical Operations Understanding: Strong grasp of clinical trial workflows and operational data flows within CROs or life sciences organizations.
  • Enterprise Data Support: Experience supporting data needs across Finance, HR, BD, and other corporate functions.
  • Value Creation from Data: Demonstrated success in using data to drive business outcomes, such as improving site selection, patient recruitment, cost forecasting, or operational efficiency.
  • Governance & Compliance: Experience implementing data governance in regulated environments, with knowledge of GxP, GDPR, and HIPAA.
  • AI/ML Exposure: Familiarity with deploying or leveraging machine learning models in production, ideally within healthcare or clinical research settings.
  • Application Integration: Experience integrating data from clinical systems such as Veeva Vault Clinical, CTMS, and EDC platforms, as well as ERP and HRIS systems.
  • Other technical requirements: Proven success in building BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and enabling self-service analytics across business units; Experience utilizing Microsoft Fabric.
  • Strategic Vision & Execution: Ability to align data initiatives with business goals and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Track record of building and leading high-performing data teams in fast-paced, mission-driven environments
