The Director of Finance and Accounting will oversee finance operations, manage multiple business entities, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and lead a finance team while providing strategic financial leadership.

Location: Austin, Texas with Travel as Needed
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, highly capable finance leader to join our growing team. This position will take direct ownership of major portions of our finance operations and provide senior-level oversight for several new and existing business units.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance professional with deep technical accounting skills, strong leadership abilities, and the versatility to manage diverse business models, international operations, outsourced accounting partners, and complex, multi-entity environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and finance operations for multiple business units, ensuring accuracy, compliance with US GAAP, and strong internal controls.
- Drive construction and project-based accounting, including job cost tracking, revenue recognition, and financial support for data center development and consulting projects.
- Oversee equipment rental and leasing accounting, including asset capitalization, depreciation, lease accounting (ASC 842), utilization reporting, and ROI optimization.
- Manage and improve ERP systems (NetSuite) by streamlining workflows, integrating data, and supporting automation across entities.
- Partner with business unit leaders to develop budgets, forecasts, KPI dashboards, and performance reporting that supports data-driven decisions.
- Support international operations, including multi-currency accounting, consolidations, and coordination with external accounting partners for compliance in European jurisdictions.
- Provide strategic financial leadership, collaborating with senior executives on process improvements, financial planning, and scaling finance operations to support growth.
- Lead and develop a small finance team, including oversight of outsourced accounting partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, required, CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in US GAAP, with IFRS and European statutory accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Background in professional services accounting, project accounting, and/or construction accounting.
- Experience with equipment leasing/rental accounting and revenue recognition.
- Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP system, with a proven track record of driving process automation and system improvements.
- Advanced Excel skills for modeling, reconciliation, and data analysis.
- Experience with KPI design, dashboard creation, and metrics-driven performance management.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
