The Director of Finance will lead the entire Finance and Accounting apparatus at Audyence. This individual will own all financial planning and analysis (FP&A), financial reporting and accounting operations. For a period of time, this individual will also manage outside contractors who support payroll, tax and compliance. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, has expert-level attention to detail, and is motivated by the opportunity to build scalable, integrated financial systems from the ground up.

This role is ideal for someone who ultimately aspires to become a CFO or COO, and who is ready to take full ownership of the finance function in a fast-growing company.

The expected base salary range is $140,000-$175,000

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance & FP&A

  • Build and manage pro forma financial models to support strategic planning, scenario modeling, and board-level decision-making.
  • Own the company’s FP&A processes including forecasting, budgeting, financial KPI tracking, and performance analysis.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on pricing strategy for existing and future products
  • Collaborate with department heads and executive leadership on compensation planning, including incentive payments.  
  • Work cross-departmentally and with executive leadership to build and monitor capital allocation strategies.
     
  • Partner with IT and BI to connect key systems (QuickBooks, Stripe, Bill.com, HubSpot, Snowflake) for unified reporting and automation.
     
  • Work with BI to continuously improve internal reporting dashboards to give executives and department leaders actionable financial insights.

Accounting Operations

  • Manage all AR/AP processes, including setup of new customers in QuickBooks (or in customer-specified invoicing platforms) and vendor onboarding in Bill.com.
  • Work with outsourced accounting partners to close monthly books, reconcile accounts, and produce accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements.
  • Ensure on-time invoicing, collections, and payment workflows are executed smoothly and efficiently.

Payroll, Tax, and Compliance

  • Lead, manage and hold accountable a small team of contractors whom support payroll, tax and compliance
  • Oversee payroll processing, employee reimbursements, and benefits administration in coordination with external providers.
  • Oversee efforts to maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations, including the preparation and filing of required documents.
  • Own documentation and execution of tax reimbursements, audit readiness, and payroll compliance policies.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A roles, preferably in a high-growth startup or SaaS/marketplace environment.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and QuickBooks.
  • Proficiency in Stripe and Bill.com; experience with HubSpot Reporting is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition, unit economics, and SaaS financial metrics.
  • Experience working with outsourced accounting and payroll partners.
  • Background in pricing strategy or compensation planning is a plus.
  • Highly detail-oriented with exceptional organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work cross-functionally and drive results independently.
