Technology Operations & Infrastructure

  • Maintain reliable production operations and develop strategies to advance the environment toward 99.999% uptime, including oversight of Disaster Recovery and Emergency Management activities. 
  • Maintain secure, stable, and effectively managed networks and systems supported by clearly defined standards, documentation, metrics, and management reporting. 
  • Ensure appropriate firewall and secure remote-access capabilities and support technology-related audit activities. 
  • Oversee technology operations to ensure system reliability, compatibility, efficiency, and effectiveness across multiple hardware and software platforms. 
  • Monitor system utilization, capacity, throughput, sizing, and performance to proactively identify and address technology needs. 
  • Analyze, evaluate, and recommend network, security, telecommunications, storage, database, and technology architecture, including hardware, software, protocols, topology, and strategy. 
  • Evaluate new hardware and software for compatibility and organizational value and provide capacity planning for servers, storage, devices, and other technology resources. 

Strategic Leadership & Service Delivery

  • Provide executive leadership for Information Systems related to technology needs, design, utilization, and service delivery. 
  • Partner with hospital leadership to prioritize technical support initiatives, establish resource priorities, and provide technology services across hospital and remote locations. 
  • Develop relationships and identify technology opportunities that support the organization’s clinical, financial, and strategic objectives. 
  • Ensure access to technology that supports patient care, education, and research. 
  • Identify opportunities for business process analysis, improvement, and reengineering. 
  • Communicate the value of technology, build consensus among stakeholders, and effectively bridge Information Systems technology with end users. 

Team, Vendor & Financial Management

  • Build and lead a strong service organization through effective recruitment, retention, development, mentoring, and organizational planning. 
  • Structure technology operations teams to effectively support multiple hardware and software platforms and evolving organizational needs. 
  • Manage system integrators, subcontractors, vendors, and other external technology partners. 
  • Lead vendor integration and contract negotiations supporting technology services and infrastructure. 
  • Prepare and manage the annual departmental budget, monitor department needs, and ensure efficient allocation of resources. 

Compliance, Standards & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that support regulatory requirements and customer needs. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors and support technology-related audit initiatives. 
  • Ensure departmental compliance with applicable Joint Commission (JCAHO) requirements. 
  • Collaborate across departments to support system-wide accreditation requirements. 
  • Research, evaluate, recommend, and implement network-wide services while identifying and resolving technology performance and reliability issues.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to hospital management, information systems, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in information/computer technology within a corporate environment
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience within a technology environment, preferably within healthcare

 Preferred:

  • Master’s degree  
  • Experience supporting technology applications within clinical environments
  • Experience across a broad range of current and emerging technologies
