This is a high-impact leadership role with full-funnel accountability and visibility at the executive and board level. The Director will define the marketing vision, establish operational rigor, and drive predictable, scalable growth across SMB and Enterprise segments in both SaaS and on-prem models.
What You Will Own
Enterprise-Level Marketing Strategy & Business Outcomes
• Develop and execute the comprehensive marketing strategy for the Tools business, aligning tightly to corporate revenue objectives.
• Own pipeline creation, contribution to closed-won revenue, customer retention influence, and expansion performance.
• Drive measurable impact across new acquisition, cross-sell, and upsell motions.
• Expand market penetration across new industries, verticals, and buyer personas.
Go-to-Market Leadership
• Architect and lead integrated go-to-market strategies for new product launches and portfolio expansions.
• Partner with Product Management on positioning, pricing, packaging, and messaging frameworks.
• Oversee demand generation programs across digital, events, partner channels, content, and field marketing.
• Optimize customer journey mapping across complex buying committees and multi-touch sales cycles.
Full-Funnel Optimization & Predictable Growth
• Establish a data-driven operating model for marketing performance.
• Define segmentation strategies across SMB, mid-market, and enterprise buyers.
• Standardize lead qualification methodologies and sales alignment processes.
• Optimize cost per opportunity, conversion rates, and funnel velocity.
• Build scalable playbooks to support recurring revenue growth.
Marketing Operations & Technology Enablement
• Oversee marketing technology stack, analytics platforms, and reporting infrastructure.
• Ensure visibility into performance metrics at team, executive, and board levels.
• Implement continuous improvement frameworks grounded in data and experimentation.
• Leverage automation and advanced segmentation to improve lifecycle marketing effectiveness.
Leadership & Organizational Impact
• Lead and mentor a high-performing marketing team.
• Influence cross-functional stakeholders through executive presence and strategic storytelling.
• Build alignment across Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Finance.
• Foster a culture of accountability, experimentation, and measurable impact.
What You Bring
• 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, ideally within B2B SaaS and hybrid (SaaS + on-prem) environments.
• Proven track record of owning revenue-impacting marketing strategies at the product line or business unit level.
• Deep expertise in recurring revenue models, lifecycle marketing, and enterprise buying motions.
• Demonstrated ability to scale demand generation across new sales, cross-sell, and upsell funnels.
• Strong analytical acumen with experience presenting performance metrics to executive teams and boards.
• Experience influencing across matrixed organizations without direct authority.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• A structured, process-oriented mindset paired with creativity and curiosity.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
Why This Role Matters
This Director will shape the future growth trajectory of the SolarWinds Tools portfolio. You will not only drive marketing performance — you will define what success looks like, build the systems to measure it, and lead the team that delivers it.
If you are a strategic operator who thrives at the intersection of growth, analytics, and leadership, this is an opportunity to make measurable impact at scale.
