Overview of the Role:

Missionforce is Salesforce's dedicated business unit revolutionizing U.S. national security operations across defense, intelligence, and aerospace agencies with AI-powered workflows.
We are seeking a Director of Operations to join our Missionforce team based in D.C.. This is a high-impact role supporting our Customer Success Group (CSG) in delivering the best of commercial technology to mission-critical work across the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), and Aerospace & Allied Nations. You will bring operational rigor to a dynamic, high-growth business segment while driving cross-functional coordination and executing critical business initiatives.
Responsibilities:
 
  • Serve as the primary liaison across cross-functional projects, ensuring all initiatives align with broader organizational goals and maintain clear communication of risks, dependencies, and resolution paths.
  • Develop and manage detailed program plans — including scope, schedule, and budget — while presenting status reports and recommendations to senior stakeholders and executive steering committees.
  • Lead rhythm of business operations, executive communications, and key global initiatives in support of strategic planning.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and development to direct reports, ensuring compliance with required processes, procedures, and training.

Required Qualifications:
 
  • 10+ years of experience managing complex project implementations or leading successful Agile development teams.
  • 5+ years in a people leadership role directly managing and mentoring high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and influence leaders without formal authority.
  • Foundation in the Salesforce platform, ideally backed by Salesforce certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Prior consulting experience supporting U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), or Federal Civilian agencies.
  • Background in defense or aerospace industries, or operational military and logistics experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Understanding of the Software as a Service (SaaS) business model and complex business-to-business (B2B) sales processes.

This candidate must be a U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) who does not hold dual citizenship and agrees to complete a U.S. federal government Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) for a Moderate Public Trust position.

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $164,000 - $261,500 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
