The Director of Product, Crypto will lead the strategy and execution of product offerings in the crypto sector, focusing on trust and identity integration while collaborating with partners and internal teams.
As the Director of Product, Crypto at Proof, you will own the strategy, vision, and execution of our product portfolio to serve the crypto use case. You will define how Proof brings trust, identity, and secure transactions to the crypto ecosystem while partnering closely with leading stablecoin issuers, exchanges, payment processors, and emerging Web3 innovators. This is a highly visible role that requires deep crypto expertise, strong product intuition, and the ability to shape a new category from the ground up. Experience in crypto is required and experience with payments is preferred.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering, design, strategy, and GTM teams to build 0 to 1 products that integrate identity assurance, verification, compliance, and risk capabilities into critical crypto and payments workflows. You will work directly with customers, prospects, and partners to uncover real needs, validate product-market fit, and advance the crypto use case within our broader digital trust platform. You will also lead strategic planning, product vision, GTM alignment, cross functional communication, and executive-level presentations tied to your product areas. This role reports to the VP of Product and may manage a small team of PMs.
What you will do as our Director of Product, Crypto:
- Own the product strategy for our crypto use case and define a long-term vision for how identity, authentication, and trust are embedded across crypto and payments ecosystems
- Lead customer and partner conversations across stablecoin issuers, exchanges, payment companies, compliance organizations, and Web3 platforms to drive insight that informs product direction
- Drive early product-market discovery to identify where Proof unlocks real customer value across stablecoin rails, travel rule compliance, AML and KYC workflows, digital identity, verifiable credentials, and agentic commerce
- Build deep expertise at the intersection of identity, device intelligence, authentication, and crypto to influence engineering direction and architectural decisions
- Develop clear product roadmaps, define success metrics, and present strategy to senior leadership, customers, and partners
- Make high judgment decisions in ambiguous environments by synthesizing data, customer feedback, and industry signals
- Partner closely with engineering to write specs, manage sprints, troubleshoot customer issues, and guide the execution of complex technical projects
- Build strong relationships across the crypto ecosystem and represent Proof at conferences, customer sessions, and industry events
- Work with Solutions, Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing to align on positioning, drive adoption, and support early use cases
- Support the creation of new business models, partnerships, and technical integrations related to crypto and payments
- Guide and mentor other PMs
What we are looking for:
- 10+ years of experience in product management roles in B2B or B2B2C SaaS environments
- 5+ years of experience bringing 0 to 1 products to market, experience as a founding PM preferred
- Deep experience in crypto and strong understanding of stablecoins, blockchain fundamentals, travel rule requirements, AML and compliance workflows, and crypto payment rails
- Payments experience or familiarity with frameworks like RegE highly preferred
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong bias toward action and the ability to build in ambiguity
- Experience working closely with engineering teams and comfort leading conversations on topics such as architecture, APIs, SDKs, platform design, and data flows
- Excellent communication skills and executive presence with the ability to clearly articulate technical and business concepts
- Proven ability to influence and align cross functional partners including engineering, strategy, GTM, and external partners
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; MBA is a plus
- Experience with platform products, identity, PKI, compliance technology, or real time analytics is helpful
- Someone who naturally networks, builds relationships, and thrives in fast moving environments
- A passion for building trusted digital systems and driving the next chapter of secure, identity assured transactions across emerging payment and crypto networks
