Role Overview

As Director, Product Management (Platform), you own the vision and strategy for the Core Platform at Housecall Pro. Your portfolio spans the foundational capabilities that product and engineering teams, partners, and AI agents build on, including identity and access management, APIs, data and search, developer experience, infrastructure, and our AI Software Factory. You are accountable for ensuring our investments in these areas solve the right shared problems, are adopted across the company, and create measurable leverage that ultimately improves outcomes for our Pros and our business.

You thrive in the strategic and hands-on, balancing long term strategy with day-to-day execution across multiple platform areas. You manage a high-performing team of Product Managers and grow them into stronger product leaders. You partner closely with Engineering, Design, Security, Data, and product leaders across the company to make clear tradeoffs, align priorities, and deliver reliable platform capabilities that help teams move faster and build better products.

Our team is passionate, empathetic, hard working, and above all else focused on improving the lives of our service professionals (our Pros). Our success is their success.

What you do each day:

  • Set the long-term product vision and strategy across the Platform portfolio
  • Define which shared problems the platform should solve once, where teams need flexibility, and how the portfolio should evolve
  • Establish meaningful measures of success across adoption, velocity, reliability, cost, quality, and risk reduction, connecting them to customer and business outcomes
  • Lead AI-native platform development, shaping how people and agents use the platform and how AI changes the product and software development lifecycle
  • Hire, lead, and develop Product Managers with strong product judgment, technical fluency, and ownership, supporting them in translating strategy into clear goals, roadmaps, and priorities
  • Collaborate across Product, Engineering, Design, Security, and Data to resolve competing needs, make clear tradeoffs, and drive adoption
  • Represent the platform portfolio with product and company leadership, making its priorities, progress, and impact clear

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, with at least 3 years in product leadership roles with direct people management responsibilities
  • Proven track record of leading platform product teams and launching or scaling shared capabilities used across multiple products, teams, or customer experiences
  • Strong technical fluency across APIs, architecture, data, reliability, security, developer tooling, and technical tradeoffs, with the ability to engage credibly with senior engineers
  • Hands-on experience building and shipping AI or agentic tools for engineers or internal users, including defining how their work is evaluated

What will help you succeed:

  • Exceptional judgment and product taste, with the ability to guide teams toward simple, usable solutions to complex technical problems
  • Strategic and hands-on leadership that stays close enough to customers, teams, and the work to improve actual decisions
  • Conviction without rigidity, bringing an independent point of view while changing direction when new evidence warrants it
  • A strong bias for action that balances speed and urgency with sound judgment, quality, and reliability
  • Curious and self-directed, with a track record of learning quickly and succeeding in unfamiliar or ambiguous areas
  • A rich portfolio of active, self-directed exploration showing either an exceptional breadth of cross-functional interests or a profound depth of specialized mastery
  • Personal resilience to learn from scratch, and successfully thrive in ambiguity
