How this role will Serve, Own and Grow at Rev:

Rev is hiring a Director of Sales to turn early enterprise traction into a repeatable, predictable sales motion. Customers are showing demand for what we’ve built. Your job is to translate that demand into consistent execution, stronger sellers, and more closed business.

This is a hands-on, player-coach role for someone who leads from the front. You’ll work alongside our sellers in Austin and remote—joining customer conversations, shaping deal strategy, coaching in real time, and helping close $100K deals. You’ll own the team’s sales results and build the habits, processes, and accountability that make those results repeatable.

We’re looking for a leader who brings urgency, confidence, and energy, paired with the humility to listen and learn. You can quickly assess what’s working, address gaps directly, and earn your team’s trust through clear expectations, practical coaching, and follow-through.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead from the front: Work directly with sellers on high-priority opportunities, from discovery and stakeholder engagement through negotiation and close. Model strong preparation, customer conversations, and follow-through.

  • Build a repeatable enterprise sales motion: Turn early wins into a clear process for identifying, qualifying, advancing, and closing opportunities. Build a playbook sellers can use and improve as the business grows.

  • Set expectations and drive accountability: Establish clear standards for activity, preparation, pipeline management, and results. Address underperformance promptly and fairly, with specific feedback and clear improvement expectations.

  • Coach consistently: Establish a regular cadence of call reviews, deal reviews, one-on-ones, and skill development. Turn feedback into specific actions that improve seller behavior and performance.

  • Create urgency and focus: Keep the team focused on the actions that move deals forward. Ensure opportunities have clear owners, next steps, and timelines.

  • Own pipeline visibility and forecasting: Maintain a credible view of pipeline health and expected results. Use conversion rates, win rates, deal size, and sales cycle data to identify bottlenecks and improve execution.

  • Partner across the business: Work with Marketing, Revenue Operations, and Product to sharpen targeting, messaging, lead handoffs, and the customer experience.

  • Build the team for its next stage: Assess team strengths and gaps, develop existing talent, and help hire sellers who bring tenacity, curiosity, and a commitment to serving customers.

  • Represent Rev actively: Build relationships with prospective customers at conferences and industry events. Initiate conversations, listen closely, and follow through.

Qualifications:

  • A proven record of closing enterprise B2B deals, including deals of approximately $100K, and personally helping sellers win complex opportunities

  • Experience taking an early sales motion from a handful of wins to a sustained pace of closed business, with specific examples of the deal volume, timeframe, and results you helped deliver

  • Demonstrated success improving an underperforming sales team by strengthening expectations, coaching, execution, and accountability

  • Experience managing and developing sellers, with practical coaching routines that produced measurable improvements

  • Strong command of enterprise deal strategy, including discovery, stakeholder alignment, qualification, negotiation, and closing

  • A practical, data-informed approach to sales process, pipeline management, and forecasting

  • The confidence and credibility to motivate a team, deliver direct feedback, and hold people accountable

  • Tenacity in opening doors and advancing opportunities, paired with a service-oriented approach to customer relationships

  • Comfort building in an early-stage environment where the playbook is still taking shape

  • Based in Austin, or willing to relocate, and committed to working in the office alongside the team

What Success Looks like:

  • Sellers have clear expectations and demonstrate stronger preparation, follow-through, and ownership

  • Coaching and deal reviews consistently lead to better customer conversations and deal execution

  • The team converts early traction into a repeatable flow of enterprise wins

  • Pipeline and forecasts become more reliable, with clear next steps and fewer stalled opportunities

  • Customers experience a team that understands their needs and helps them make confident buying decisions

Location Requirement:

  • If you're based in Austin, TX, this is a hybrid role with an expectation of being onsite 3 days per week at our office located at: 1717 W 6th St, Suite 310, Austin, TX 78703. #LI-Hybrid
