About the Role
The Director, PP&B Strategy & Business Operations is a key member of the People, Purpose & Brand (PP&B) Alignment team and serves as a strategic and operational partner to the Head of PP&B Alignment.
This position plays a leading role in operating the management system that enables PP&B to translate strategy into execution. Working across the PP&B leadership team and functions, the Director will create clarity around the work that matters most, strengthen how initiatives move from idea to execution, improve leadership operating rhythms, and provide the insights and coordination needed for effective decision-making.
The role is ideal for someone who can move fluidly between enterprise-level thinking and detailed execution, bring structure to ambiguity, connect work across organizational boundaries, and continuously improve how a complex organization operates.
Key Responsibilities
PP&B Management System
  • Design, manage and continuously improve PP&B operating rhythms, ensuring leadership time is focused on the issues, decisions and work that matter most.
  • Develop and maintain scorecards and other tools that provide leaders with clear visibility into organizational priorities, performance, outcomes and risks.
  • Strengthen governance and decision-making by clarifying forum purpose, decision rights, accountabilities and follow-through.
  • Help reimagine how the PP&B management system operates by applying AI, experimenting with new approaches, learning from real-world use, and scaling solutions that improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Partner across PP&B Alignment leaders to create consistent management practices and stronger connectivity across the organization.

Strategy, Portfolio & Planning
  • Lead key components of the annual planning and budget-setting process, connecting strategic priorities with resource and investment considerations.
  • Maintain an integrated view of the PP&B portfolio, including ownership, milestones, dependencies, risks and progress.
  • Strengthen the end-to-end process for how emerging work moves from intake and prioritization through planning and execution.
  • Surface portfolio trade-offs, competing priorities and capacity implications for leadership consideration.
  • Build shared context across PP&B functions and help ensure the organization operates around a clear and connected set of priorities.

Leadership Team & Executive Enablement
  • Partner closely with the Head of PP&B Alignment to support the effectiveness of the Chief PP&B Officer and PP&B leadership team.
  • Develop executive-ready agendas, materials, narratives and decision support for key leadership forums.
  • Anticipate emerging topics requiring leadership attention and bring structure to complex or ambiguous issues.
  • Support high-priority initiatives or special projects that span organizational boundaries or require focused executive attention.

What Success Looks Like
In this role, success means:
  • PP&B leaders have clear visibility into priorities, portfolio performance, risks and trade-offs.
  • Leadership forums are focused, decision-oriented and drive clear accountability and follow-through.
  • Strategic priorities move from planning into execution with stronger ownership, coordination and discipline.
  • Cross-functional dependencies and capacity implications are identified and addressed earlier.
  • Scorecards, operating rhythms and governance generate useful insight rather than administrative burden.
  • AI and automation meaningfully improve how management work gets done.
  • The Head of PP&B Alignment and PP&B leadership team have greater capacity to focus on strategic and enterprise-level priorities.
Qualifications
What You Bring
  • Significant experience in strategy, business operations, Chief of Staff, management consulting, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior executives and leadership teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business judgment, with an ability to translate ambiguity into clear frameworks, choices and actions.
  • Experience leading planning, portfolio management, governance, business reviews or organizational operating rhythms.
  • Strong program and project leadership skills, with a track record of driving complex work across organizational boundaries.
  • Ability to influence without authority and build trusted relationships across a matrixed organization.
  • Excellent communication skills-written and verbal, utilizing the appropriate medium to align, influence, and drive clarity in ownership of key work; quantitative skills with the ability to define and measure success of key initiatives against overall goals
  • Curiosity about AI, automation and new ways of working, with a willingness to experiment and continuously improve.
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 7 years of experience
