Job Summary & ResponsibilitiesAbout Associa

Founded in 1979, Associa has grown into a leading community management services company, delivering comprehensive solutions to thousands of communities. Our people help make communities happen, supported by a family-first culture grounded in service, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

Associa is seeking a Director of Talent Acquisition to lead recruiting delivery across assigned business areas and help shape how we attract, engage, and hire exceptional talent. Reporting to the VP of HR Operations, you will combine hands-on executive recruiting with team leadership, workforce partnership, recruiting analytics, and process improvement. This is a high-impact opportunity for a hands-on recruiting leader with a true hunter mentality. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, resourceful, persistent, and energized by identifying and engaging exceptional talent, particularly individuals who are not actively seeking new opportunities. We are looking for someone who thinks beyond job postings and traditional sourcing channels, builds meaningful talent networks, and knows how to turn a challenging search into a successful hire.

What makes this role compelling: You will influence hiring across a large, growing organization; recruit for critical senior-level roles; coach an experienced recruiting team; and improve the tools, practices, and insights that drive a consistent candidate and hiring-manager experience.

Are you a natural talent hunter?

Do you enjoy the challenge of finding the person everyone else says is impossible to find? Do you instinctively look beyond the applicant pool, build relationships before opportunities exist, and know how to turn a passive prospect into an interested candidate? If you thrive on the search as much as the hire, and enjoy teaching others to do the same, this may be the opportunity for you.

Why Join Associa?
  • Meaningful scale and impact: Help attract the people who support thousands of communities and shape the future of a leading community management services company.
  • A people-first culture: Join an organization that emphasizes service, trust, innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Growth and development: Access professional development, leadership programs, collaborative learning, on-demand learning, and certification support through Associa University.
  • Comprehensive benefits: Eligible employees may participate in medical, dental, and vision coverage; retirement and financial-wellness offerings; paid and floating holidays; time-off programs; mental-health resources; and additional voluntary benefits and discounts.
What You’ll Do
  • Lead recruiting operations. Direct day-to-day recruiting activity across assigned roles, functions, or regions, aligning team capacity and delivery with business priorities.
  • Own executive and critical-role searches. Personally lead full-cycle recruiting for senior-level and business-critical positions, leveraging targeted sourcing, direct outreach, passive-candidate engagement, talent mapping, competitive intelligence, and relationship-driven recruiting strategies. Demonstrate the tenacity and creativity needed to identify and attract talent in competitive or difficult-to-fill markets.
  • Champion a proactive sourcing culture. Bring a headhunter’s instinct to recruiting by continuously identifying talent, building relationships ahead of hiring needs, and uncovering candidates through creative and unconventional sourcing methods. Coach the recruiting team to move beyond reactive, applicant-driven recruiting and build strong, sustainable pipelines of passive and active talent.
  • Advise business and HR leaders. Partner with hiring managers and HR stakeholders to clarify role requirements, assess talent, and support timely, high-quality hiring decisions.
  • Elevate the hiring experience. Oversee sourcing, screening, interview coordination, selection, offers, pre-employment steps, and onboarding handoffs to deliver a responsive and consistent experience.
  • Use insights to improve results. Monitor recruiting activity, ATS data, pipeline health, time-to-fill, candidate experience, and service levels; identify trends and recommend practical improvements.
  • Strengthen recruiting practices. Advance consistent processes, compliance, reporting routines, and adoption of recruiting tools and standards across the organization.
  • Expand Associa’s talent reach. Cultivate relationships with vendors, job boards, schools, and professional networks, and represent Associa at recruiting events in partnership with HR leadership.
  • Develop a high-performing team. Lead, coach, and support Recruiters and Senior Recruiters by setting priorities, reviewing progress, providing feedback, and helping resolve complex recruiting challenges.
Preferred QualificationsWhat You’ll Bring

Required experience and capabilities

  • At least ten years of progressive talent acquisition or recruiting experience, including significant hands-on experience proactively sourcing passive talent and leading full-cycle recruiting for complex or specialized roles.
  • Demonstrated success proactively sourcing, engaging, and securing passive candidates, particularly for executive, specialized, or hard-to-fill positions, with a track record of delivering results beyond traditional job postings and inbound applications.
  • A resourceful, persistent, and results-driven recruiting approach, with the ability to creatively identify talent, overcome sourcing challenges, and inspire the same proactive mindset in others.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with hiring managers and HR leaders across multiple functions, business areas, or regions.
  • Experience leading, supervising, or coordinating recruiters and balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, CRM and sourcing platforms, job boards, social media, recruiting metrics, and reporting.
  • Ability to use data to assess hiring activity, identify trends, and improve sourcing, efficiency, compliance, and candidate experience.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in human resources, business, industrial relations, or a related field.
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR, CHRP, or equivalent.
  • Strong executive presence, consultation skills, judgment, discretion, and a service-oriented leadership style.
  • A record of coaching others, building trusted relationships, and creating accountability without sacrificing collaboration.
