Job Summary

The Disclosure Desk Specialist ensures all mortgage loans are properly disclosed in a timely and accurate fashion. This role must operate within the rules, regulations, and guidelines set forth by the federal government and UFCU.  

The Disclosure Desk Specialist reports to the Senior Manager, Mortgage Loan Operations.

Essential Functions

  • Reviews all mortgage files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and disclosure in the regulated time frame
  • Reviews all Loan Estimate documents to ensure all appropriate fields are completed to prevent loan losses that could potentially occur from improper disclosure
  • Manages all incoming disclosure and redisclosure requests to ensure all loans are disclosed in the regulated time frame
  • Utilizes all Encompass system tools to monitor and inform Loan Officers and Loan Processors of any important disclosing milestones
  • Reviews locked loans according to policy pricing structure

Other

  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes
  • Completes required regulatory training as assigned.
  • Maintain strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations and internal controls specific to your role, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and Fair Lending regulations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities    

Knowledge

  • Familiarity with current mortgage lending laws and regulations, and strong understanding of documentation relating to residential real estate lending and conventional financing, and/or familiarity with credit union philosophies and practices.
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of the federal and state regulations dealing with Mortgage and Home Equity lending
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage lending file organization and the related documentation associated with mortgage files
  • Basic knowledge of the mortgage process, documentation, requirements; governmental and agency requirements; and terminology

Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of mortgage experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of disclosure experience
  • Must be bondable

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior financial institution experience

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • This position requires frequently working onsite at UFCU Plaza in Austin, Texas.
  • This position may involve periodic stressful conditions.
  • May occasionally require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours.
  • Frequent computer use at a workstation up to two hours at a time.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
