Provide CAD drafting and engineering support for power systems projects, create and review drawings and BOMs, coordinate projects through completion, support customers and project managers, attend meetings, and uphold safety and quality standards.
The Drafter-Associate Project Manager is responsible for supporting the Engineering Team. Responsibilities include providing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) support for the Power Systems Sales team using applicable applications, to include Autodesk and Solidworks.
Essential Functions
• Drafts as dictated by projects to include, but not limited to, wiring diagrams, schematics, engine, and generator sets
• Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards
• Support projects and provides technical support to internal and external customers
• Review’s engine and genset technical specifications and source’s part drawings
• Creates CAD engineering drawings and Bill(s) of material to ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards
• Reviews and verifies CAD engineering drawings and Bill(s) of Material with Project Manager/Engineer and/or customer to determine that the project meets the project's objectives
• Reviews, tracks, and coordinates projects through all phases to completion, ensuring that drafting quality standards, customer satisfaction and company profitability are maintained
• Maintains drawing files and operates CAD system hardware and software
• Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and effectively manage time to ensure that drawing deadline requirements are met
• Pro-actively manages project-related risks/issues
• Review’s manufacturing drawings to ensure that they meet customer specifications and requirements
• Attends project kickoff and safety meetings
• Provide drawings and necessary documents for sales submittals
• Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
•Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong technical aptitude and knowledge of industry policies, procedures, and practices
• Knowledge of design drawings and documentation
• Strong familiarity with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices
• Intermediate skill with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); ability to produce information in spreadsheets, documents, forms, tables, and presentations
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Autodesk and Solidworks
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional skills in customer service
• Strong organization skills, detailed-oriented, and ability to work on multiple projects
• Interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and customers (internal and external)

Requirements
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required, degree and/or additional specialized training in Engineering, Mathematics, or related field preferred
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
• Up to two or three years of job-related experience and/or training or equivalent experience required

None
Travel:
• Up to 15% travel may be required, to include overnight
• Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements:
• This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
• This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
Work Environment:
• This job is generally performed in a professional office environment, in environmentally controlled conditions
• Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
• Noise level may be loud at times
• Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure fluids, and high-speed rotating equipment
