Responsible for designing and analyzing digital and analog circuits used in the development of memory products. Simulate, optimize, and floor plan DRAM circuits. Implement device specifications and create innovative circuit solutions. Design digital and analog circuits using CMOS logic gates and transistors. Create floorplans that optimize for the best circuit placement, signal routing, and power delivery. Design memory core circuits and optimize for sense margins, array timings, and die size. Prepare design documentation for other engineers to use. Use Spice and Verilog, simulate to verify proper circuit operation. Analyze circuits for power consumption, speed performance, and reliability. Model layout parasitics in the simulation and verify proper signal routing and power supply connections. Assist in silicon design validation and debug. Analyze results to confirm simulation to silicon correlation. Identify schematic edits for design revisions. Perform semiconductor design engineering assignments including engineering and designing chip layout circuits, circuit checking, documenting specifications, modifying and evaluating semiconductor devices and components. Review product requirements and logic diagrams for device definition. Responsible for projects, or portions of projects, to design, fabricate, modify, and evaluate semiconductor devices and components. May telecommute part-time.
Employer will accept a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field. Position requires education or experience in:
1. Digital design, including combinational logic and finite state machines;
2. VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) design, including CMOS physical design and optimization techniques;
3. Analog circuit design;
4. Hspice or Verilog based simulation, including simulation timing analysis, functional analysis, and simulation debug;
5. Computer aided design schematic capture.
